I'm not an expert, but I personally use an Ugly Stick for cranks. It's plenty soft enough for me. I would have said a BPS crankin' stick, but you said spinning rod....

As far as opinions go..............thats a pretty bold one, but typical from young guys who just bought the "latest and greatest", and want to be an authority on something. Ya know, I wasn't even gonna respond to that trash.....but..... That's a bold statement from someone who doesn't know who he is talking to.... Age has nothing to do with.

My Carrot Stick fits my hand perfectly. My thumb rests right on the blank and when fishing a shakey head, I can feel EVERYTHING. Boyd wasn't kidding when he said "I can drag a worm over a beer can and tell you what brand it is." Didn't really see what the big deal was til I bought one and started fishing it...now I have another one on the way.

Well, sounds alot like what I used to do...Why not buy one reel and get a few extra spools for that reel instead? For example, most reels today come with a "free extra spool". Expanding upon that, you can buy spare spools on ebay or usually from a tackle shop. Instead of spending the extra on the reel, just buy the spools!

Can you buy spare spools for the Revo? I just ordered an SX, was wondering if it's easy to swap spools on the fly like a spinning reel. This is my first baitcaster in about 15 years....
