  1. In the words of Doc. Brown..."GREAT SCOTT!!!" That's alot of loot. I think the brand new G3 was $800
  2. I can understand that. When one of my sisters was young she was picking blueberries at our farm, and stuck her hand into a yellow jackets nest. She got stung about 30 times. Never seen a 10 year old run that fast! Poor kid. FWIW, I don't trust horses.
  3. We fish out of a 12' 36" G3, and it's pretty stable. The two of us stand up all day in it. Take into consideration that this particular boat weighs 144lbs. We throw it in the back of my truck and away we go. 8-)
  4. Nice one! Up here we use 7" pumpkinseed Powerworms with alot of success.
  5. Happened to a friend of mines son two years ago. Was putting his lobster boat in for the season, and his F250 ended up underneath just like that! Fully submerged in salt water...not good. Somehow the planets were aligned and the trans popped out of park AND the e brake failed.....
  6. Here's what happened to my buddy Mike on the way home from a race in Kentucky last year. While traveling the PA turnpike, one of his trailer tires popped and he lost control. The truck is actually facing west, but we were headed east! His truck and trailer were a total loss, the $80,000 race car in the trailer was pretty banged up, luckily only cosmetic. I saw this happen in my side mirror as we were leading the caravan of race car trailers back to New England. Luckily, no one got seriously hurt, and no other cars were involved. I've never run that fast in my life. By the time I got our rig stopped we were about a 1/4 mile down the road, I ran so fast I thought my legs were gonna give out, and I fully expected to see my buddies severly injured. This picture doesn't show the full extent of the damage. I vividly remember looking in the mirror and seeing his truck and trailer on two wheels going across the turnpike. It's a miracle that it didn't flip.
  7. I just realized that I'm wearing the same flannel shirt and grey hooded sweatshirt in every picture! Time to head to Salvation Army and get some new duds... ;D
  8. If you like the Band of Brothers series, like I do, you should read Dick Winters' book "Beyond Band of Brothers" I also enjoyed reading "Flags of our Fathers" and "Flyboys" These stories made me realize why to this day, my grandmother has a profound dislike for the Japanese Speaking of WW2, here is one of my most prized possesions. One of my grandfathers dog tags. He was a Captain in the Army, and saw combat in North Africa and Italy. You can see from the "O" prefix in the serial # that he was a commisioned officer, and the T41-42 I'm pretty sure means "tour 1941-1942".
  9. Got two Extremes the other day, I was happy that they survived the shipping process. I ended up with the 7' heavy, and 7' medium heavy Woo Daves. REALLY happy with the results. Went out the next day and caught fish on both rods. With the Stradic 2500's they feel nice!
  10. I think you're right avid!
  11. Very well said. I own an extremely modified Tippman A5, it can fire about 22 balls per second. I know someone who lost an eye from getting hit while not wearing a mask. Back on topic. It's not cool to just wander in. Ask first, be polite.
  12. Russ briefly explained this product to me the other day and my immediate response was " I want one!" I think right now only a handful of people know about it, but soon everyone will be wanting one. I believe that with Russ's people skills and contacts in the fishing community, his invention will be a success. I'm not being biased because he is a friend, I've seen his enthusiasm firsthand!!!
  13. Thanx for the advice. I actually have some of those Strike King jigs, but my hands were too numb to re-tie anything! I have a form of Raynaud's, so when my fingers get cold they get numb and swell up. > Bring on the warm weather !!!!
  14. LOL, says she arrived to court 10 minutes late. Never a good idea! ;D
  15. I got my 7' Heavy BPS Extreme and LBH and I went out yesterday morning at 5. Over the course of the day he was able to tutor me in the art of the jig. A subject that I was failing at, due to lack of experience and confidence. He showed me how to trim back the weed gaurd, and also trim the skirt to make it bloom more. After about 1/2 hour I caught a Pickerel on an 1/8 oz Stanley jig. My confidence skyrocketed! 8-) This morning I hit the water again with my buddy Rick, who was also struggling with jigs. (neither of us had caught anything on jigs before) We went out in 20 mph winds and steady drizzle. Air temp was 40, but we stuck it out anyway. After an hour or so I actually stuck my first Bass on a jig! That made Rick's confidence go way up, and 10 minutes later he had a Bass between 3-4lbs hit his jig right at the boat, but it only grabbed the trailer. Talk about a let down! He was pretty bummed, but after braving the "Deadliest Catch" conditions, he finally got one! All in all, it was a good day, even though my hands were numb, and Rick has windburn on his face. We are either crazy, or die hard, or both. But thanx to Russ (LBH) we were able to break down the barrier on jig fishing! Thanx again dude!!! Me! Rick! Conditions!
  16. My buddy Rick bought the Dicks Capricorn a few weeks ago. He likes it, but he also tried my Stradics and likes those as well! I tried his Capricorn today and I must say it is pretty smooth, about as good as his Tierra I guess. Good price for the reel too! Matt
  17. Terrible terrible news.
  18. We'll get there real quick, just try to hang on! It burns about a gallon of fuel every 1/4 mile so we might have to stop a few times to top her off!!! ;D ;D ;D
  19. LOL, I was in "the 4 wheel tacklebox" the other day and it does sound sweet! The live music is crystal clear to my ears. That being said........I would rather listen to this Russ
  20. Go fishing with him, stick a Hog. Then release it in front of him while he stares at you and cries inside. Seriously, why keep these trophy's? Get a fiberglass replica if you want a dead fish on your wall.
  21. I think I found my new signature! Classic!!!
  22. If I had caught 30-35 bass in 4 hours I would have left with a huge smile on my face! Especially if I caught a 6lber on the second cast.
  23. I have it on one of my Stradics. I have been using it with soft jerkbaits. It seems like good stuff! I bought the #6 based on your recomendation.
  24. I'm proud to say that you will never see behavior like that at an NHRA race. I look forward to the day when I can take my son to the drag strip to watch Top Fuel dragsters and Funny Cars go over 330 mph. And besides, the race is over in 4.5 seconds. 8-) I've just about given up on NASCAR, it died when Earnhardt did. Now that they are changing over to the Fast and Furious body styles, I think the final nail is in the coffin.
  25. What knot were you using??? FWIW I used Fireline for years without anything like that happening. I started using Power Pro this year and I like it so far.
