  1. Livin' the dream, awesome! Good Job!
  2. Russ, the two crackers are in. 8-)
  3. Meh, I dunno. Some of this stuff is just insane-o. I'll fish with a bamboo rod and some kite string just to be out on the water....
  4. Don't forget about those little watering holes inside the cloverleafs of the Interstate! Have you ever been going around an exit ramp and wondered if that little pond held a bass? A friend of mine caught a nice four pounder out of one in Deerfield Beach, Florida right on the side of I95 and SW 10th st.
  5. I throw mine in the back of the truck. On a related note, they sell magnetic mounts for rods that attach to your vehicle. My dad has a one piece Lamiglass 11' surf rod... How do you get THAT to the beach? With the mag mounts! ;D It is similar to this, but I think his only holds 2 rods... http://www.bluequillangler.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/magnetic-rodrack.html
  6. On the way to pick up my buddy I usually have a bannana and a nature valley granola bar. I bring a D&D hot chocolate for those chilly mornings, and a few waters to wash it all down.
  7. I'm right handed and I reel with my left. In fact, one factor that kept me away from baitcasters was that I had to turn the rod over after the cast so I could reel in lefty. I'm aware that you can order them either way, but this was back in the day when my dad was on a baitcaster kick. I told him he could keep 'em
  8. Sweet, I was just thinking that! I will run it by the other "cracker"
  9. My partner has a 12' Jon, but I thought a livewell was required.
  10. I'd like to do this Russ, but I don't have a boat... :-/ (yet)
  11. Nice! Looks like a few weeks til it's time up here. Still looking at ice...
  12. I've had a black Jitterbug and a Hulapopper in my box for the last 15 years at least.
  13. My reel doesn't need service...I'm just up to no good as usual. Don't tell my wife!
  14. ;D I'm trying to picture who that could have been!
  15. RW, can you elaborate? I bought one last season but hardly had a chance to use it. What don't you like? Thanx Matt
  16. Thank you sir! Can I order direct from Shimano, or should I go through my local dealer?
  17. Any websites that list parts for Shimano? Specifically looking for the Stradic MGFA handle. Shimano's website is pretty vague..thanx
  18. Translation= " I had to sell my Hattori Hanzo sword in order to afford this combo..."
  19. As far as freshwater is concerned, I caught an Alligator Snapping Turtle on a rubber worm when I was about 10. No big deal For saltwater, we were pier fishing in Deerfield Beach, FL....my buddy is throwing ballyhoo for bait. As soon as the bait hits the water, this Pelican comes swooping down and scoops it up, and starts flying away. So guess what happens next... my buddies drag starts screaming as this bird is trying to fly away while hooked in the mouth! What a site to behold, my friend Johnny with his line straight up in the air trying to reel in this Pelican! The thing that was really akward was the crowd of people that was gathering around us, so I whipped out the Kershaw and cut his line before we had a real scene on our hands. What else could I do, the day before, another fisherman got cut on the face by a Pelican that was trying to steal his fish right out of his hands. The bird lunged at his face and cut him with it's beak. Nasty birds...
  20. Maybe after I hit Powerball tonight, I'll let the Ugly Sticks sit in the corner and step up
  21. Did you skip over my other post? It's a Yankee secret, I might be cut off from the family now for letting it slip.... 8-)
  22. Old New England fishing...when using cut green crabs for Tautog, my grandfather would spray them with WD40. He ate a lot of Tautog....
