  1. Get it together ! There could be a Haskell minnow buried in that heap !
  2. Ken Cook, KVD and Jason Christie
  3. In Palmetto Bay there is a Shopping Center called “The Falls” it’s located at 8888 SW 136th St, Miami, FL 33176. Basicly just south of the shopping center there is a dirt road and some green space. There are two gravel lined public boat launches down this dirt road and that whole bank is easily walkable. It’s a community area and it’s known but last time I was in Miami , they were stacked up in this canal on the ledges and the ramp washouts. Very easy to catch on 1/4 oz Chrome RattleTraps, and with polarized lenses you can sight fish for them. Size from 1lb. up to 4lb. (25.6425734, -80.3380106)

In 2018 I wore a lot of the Huk Caps and also a few off brand Wide Brim round hats, but now it’s cold and I sport the Adidas Climalite Beenie, keeps the noggin toasty !
  5. Put a map on a cork board and throw a dart .....wherever it lands go fish it without question ! Problem solved
  6. What a charachter : )
  7. Depends on the line I'm using and how often it's used.....but in 2018 I probably went through 4000 yards of monofilament and 400 yards of braid across 10 combos. Easy math tells me on average I re-spooled every 2 months because the majority of my fishing occurs within an 8 month time frame. I was probably pushing the limits of my line , but I never experienced line failure as a result of weathered or worn line. I suppose if I began fishing tournaments again, I would change line more frequently.
  8. Many years ago I was casting a Jerkbait on Lake Erie, and I snagged what I thought was a water logged orange life preserver....but when I got the life preserver within 20 feet , the life preserver began swimming....and it actually turned out to be a giant bright orange Goldfish.
  9. My box is full of various brands and styles....however in 2018 I threw the Vintage Cotton Cordell Big O Smokey Joe and the Storm Arashi Rusty Craw color most often.
  10. The Lip design is exactly or almost exactly a Jackal Cherry and it has the same style hook hangers....it's either a copy or it could be a Japanese version .
  11. The last thing I need is more fishing equipment , but the Shimano SLX line of rods and reels caught my eye. I'm hoping to get an unbiased opinion of the SLX lineup. Does anyone own or has anyone tried the SLX rods or reels by Shimano ? Thanks
  12. My first reel was a Sedona with Rear fighting drag....I loved it and owned it for 12 years....they are a very good performing reel.
  13. 1) Texas Rigged Worms 2) SpinnerBaits 3) ChatterBaits 4) SquareBills 5) Sammys 6) Frogs 7) Jigs
  14. Hopefully a Nation or College angler wins it......but whatever happens it's bound to be one very awkward tournament
  15. Very nice work !
  16. My 2019 fishing goal is to just enjoy the sport and quit over analyzing everything.
  17. 7 Foot cranking rod would be more ideal in your scenario.
  18. I agree with this 100% ; but 10 years ago I was convinced all leader knots created a serious compromise in line strength...so I quit using leaders and eventually quit using braid altogether. Last year I changed my tune after discovering the Alberto Knot.
  19. What is the weight with all of the gear pictured ? Because I wouldn’t be walking more than 100 yards with so much gear on my shoulder; it looks like a nice Co-angler bag though !
  20. In Michigan I see a lot of the cra wfish which look closest to the Big Water and the Calico ....yet local retailers don’t ever seem to stock Crawfish Crankbaits which resembles those colors ? It’s perplexing
  21. Back in the early 2000s I tried Berkley Big Game in 15 or 20lb test, for jigs. I spooled up one time with Big Game and I couldn't believe how stiff the line was. I couldn't even get it to lay down properly on a Baitcasting reel ? Is it possible they changed their formula between 2002 and now ?
  22. My backwater/river boat is a Bass Hunter EX equipped with only a motor guide 32lb thrust electric trolling motor and 2 extra long wooden canoe paddles. I bought the whole deal at a garage sale with trolling motor for $250. I can pull up the motor and paddle while sitting down or just float the river without worrying about the hull. It's a fun deal for skinny backwater and shallow water fishing , but it's not going to win any races : )
  23. Newell is the company who is not doing well financially, they needed to streamline their holdings and focus on higher profitability. Newells stock has declined something like 50% or more over the past year and a half! I believe they viewed Pure Fishing as less profitable and a wing of their brands which required a lot of marketing money and production cost.....I also think they were aware of a strong bull market coming to an end, which signals tighter spending for the consumer and usually less discretionary income.....this would further affect the profits in the outdoor industry. Newell made a smart decision to unload Pure Fishing. Now consider this, Newell portfolio consisted of candles, coffee, ink pens, tupperware and fishing gear. In my opinion it's better for Pure Fishing to now be a part of a holding company who specializes in clothing and apparel, it just makes greater sense considering outdoor apparel and clothing is a big part of sales at every major retailer around the country. I'm certain they will manage the business differently and the only hope is they won't cut back sponsorships and they won't cheapen the product any further to create higher margin......but who knows and we won't really be aware of how this affects the Pure Fishing brand for at least another 12 months, but I think it will be good for their business in the long run.
  24. Thank you members for identifying those crankbaits !
  25. So it’s cold in Michigan and I had some time to go through some of my flea market and garage sale finds. I’m trying to identify the brand and model of the 4 Crankbaits at the top of the picture ? They look like keepers but hopefully someone with a broader knowledge may know ?
