  1. Nice! There's a gigantic difference between one bass and a good skunking!
  2. If you're gonna get a treble in the face then you might as well go out to the clubs and show it off! "Cool piercing, man!" Start a new trend. I will get mine one day. My 150 mph (known here as mach 80) jerkbait missed me and a buddy a few days ago. Didn't think it would fly all the way back to us from that distance. There is no dodging that. I got it on video and it is fast.

LOL! I know this thread is for "everything else" but I agree with the "Come on, Eileen" crowd. No good will come of it. It already hasn't.
  4. Honest I am not affiliated with this guy but I watch a lot of his videos. Fourth time I've recommended him recently. DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse - YouTube He tears these batteries apart. Don't assume your expensive battery is better and don't expect it to have cold weather charging protection in the BMS. This guy insists on it but many of us don't need it. He's largely into solar. For me I'd never charge a trolling battery outside, let alone in freezing weather. He has tested a lot of the sub-$400 batteries (100ah) from Amazon. Many are very good. When he recommends one they sell out. He tears them apart and looks for himself and tests them too. Great channel.
  5. Seems like these things should come with a floor, what the...?
  6. So did anything ever bite your balls? Are your balls still usable after all this time or did they slowly fall apart or shrivel up from non-use?
  7. For bank fishing I like to take one old plastics bag (YUM, whatever) and fill it with a few of each plastic I might use. Couple flukes, few worms...) The most bags of plastics I'll carry is 3-4. Yesterday I brought 2. I only brought 1 Plano 3600 and my bag is still too heavy. Why does water have to weigh so much?
  8. What is the difference between this and a T-rig? Is it because there's no stopper, or this type of weight slides easier?
  9. That one is truly different. Anyone every try adding a hook up top?
  10. schplurg replied to fin's topic in Fishing Tackle
My opinion is that if it bent the eye at all it was a defective hook regardless of brand. A fish could conceivably shake very hard at the right angle and slip it through the gap I suppose. Maybe the loop knot slid around and was getting nicked up from the gap beforehand. I don't know just guessing.
  11. I couldn't handle it this year. I started fishing early February thinking I wouldn't catch anything for a month or two. I didn't fish over the winter, well until now. Not since November. I mean I got up one day and said "That is IT!!! I'm going fishing - now! Screw this!" Took me 6 trips to catch one local bank fishing. Caught a couple over a few days. May be a good while before I get another, at least in this area. I have nothing else to do other than work and sit at home and I was going out of my mind. I NEED my fishing!!!
  12. Mainly Rammstein. Check out herzeleid.com (I think) for lyrics translations. Some of their stuff is quite clever and humorous, some just a tad disturbing! One song is even for us - Spawning Time (translated). Uh ya not exactly. I like instrumental music though which needs no spoken language Lately tenor sax greats...John Coltrane, Stan Getz. Just discovering it. I'm a gigantic Billie Holiday fan and am branching out. Edit: Almost forgot Sepultura (spelling?). Brazilian metal band my ex-wife told me to check out long ago. I didn't care for it.
  13. Well there's one opinion! Wild guess - former Subaru owner?
  14. I want only two things: - no bagpipes at my service or I will come back to haunt them. I hate bagpipes. - my sister gets my assets, which are few. I don't care what happens with my carcass. I'm an organ donor though. I mean not yet but one day....LOL. And don't just tell people, make a will or the ones you leave behind will remember you for all the trouble that not having one caused them.
  15. Cool I've never seen a fishing cart. I'd go with whatever is lightest.
  16. If you don't stand much then I say don't bother. Less is more in a yak.
  17. In the yak I carry as little as possible on me. Multi-tool on the hip, maybe external camera battery in my PFD if I'm using one. Sunscreen goes in the crate, I use it maybe once after I launch. Phone goes in dry storage (leave me alone). Keys too. Whistle around my neck. Smoking stuff, if I had any, would definitely go in the dry hatch. I carry matches in my box that has the extra prop and tools. I always want a way to make fire, never know. I use a foam PFD and don't need more bulk. Pants pockets same, hard to get my hand into anyways. I want as little on me as possible. My yak has all these cool little pockets and things to store that stuff
  18. I say keep it simple and cheap, otherwise put the money into a bigger boat. How about lowering the platform which will lower the center of gravity? Or even a flat slightly raised floor? Even with one person I'm not sure I'd put a deck up high near the gunwales. Go for stability regardless of the weight you put in it.
  19. I highly recommend everyone to go to Will Prowse's Youtube channel and watch an expert tear each of these batteries apart, inspect them, test them, and tell you what's up. Which are built better, which took shortcuts, the boards they use inside, the quality of the cells and connections. Some are clones of each other. DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse - YouTube Awesome Youtube channel. Extremely informative. Look through his videos to find these teardowns. There are a lot of them. You may be surprised how the big brands compare with some of the no-name Amazon ones.
  20. Like the song says: We can bass if we want to, We can leave your friends behind, Cause your friends don't bass, and if they don't bass, well, they're no friends of mine... ?
  21. Funny, it just so happens I'm looking at bridge building as a new career at age 54, so if you need any help.... Anyways, I love the Delta too and I've barely touched it yet. This season will be a biggie.
  22. Well so far all of your fish are bigger than my little one but I love mine anyways haha. And I agree with whoever caught their first fish and it wasn't a bass. I wouldn't care either! Before catching any fish this year I caught some line with a nice lure on it and was a little excited. "Well it's somethin!" I organized my Planos today, gonna go fishing at some bigger water this weekend, from the bank though.
  23. Fish to other fish: "Don't worry, no way are those guys out in this weather in the middle of the night. We're perfectly safe."
  24. No new fish? Geez, way to support my thread guys!!! LOL And I thought I was starting this thread too late! I don't know if I can catch a fish anywhere else around here, but I'm going in a few days. Maybe tomorrow, got nothing else to do.
