WRITING IS ON THE WALL
But then you have to account for the infrastructure that gets fuel (say coal) to the power plant, the people who have to mine the coal, the dangerous byproducts from burning coal (including radiation), etc. Salt style nuclear reactors are a lot safer than old style nuclear reactors as well. A lot of the fear mongering against nuclear comes from the oil industry. Wonder why? It's also outdated. Meanwhile we already have and use nuclear power, and other countries have been using it a lot more than the US, to our detriment. Anyways, a lot of our energy is already coming from wind and solar. The oil companies are investing in this new technology. Also, there are more jobs available in these new industries. If some people got what they wanted with coal, there wouldn't really be that many coal jobs created. The days of men walking out of mines with black faces are a thing of the past. It's very dangerous. And as for fast cars - I once drove a friends Tesla and it does 60 mph in 3 seconds. It'll beat any car on the road and most motorcycles off the line, especially in that price range. I've never had my head snap back into the headrest that hard. Finally, this will be a slow process. IC motors aren't going anywhere for quite awhile.

My tow vehicle hits me.
I have such a program for my Toyota but have never used it. Need a USB thingy too. You can use it to activate the alarm system in some vehicles. All minivans of my type have an alarm, but it is not activated on the low end models. You can do that yourself haha. You can do a lot of things with the software. Not recommending it though, and I've never tried it. Toyota one is called Techstream.

do you have a Nemesis body of water? one you kinda "hate"?
Chesbro, I hate that lake. Camanche is a bit steep for sure. "Hi can we drive around and take a look? My cousin just moved to the area." "$10" Tomorrow it's free for half an hour at a time. Ya let's turn around.

Is the misery of kayak fishing worth it?
Maybe I'll get the jon boat and keep the yak as well.

Favorite lure type
My favorite keeps changing. Was cranks, then worms. We'll see what's next!

How do yall approach “Let the fish talk?”
I've caught fish from the same spot within 45 minutes with three different color crank baits. I don't think they care about color as long as they can see/find it. It's a reaction strike. I think color is the last thing to worry about with most baits. That's my experience, so far This too ^^^ I did it the other day. Saw some micro Rebel crank baits in my backpack and figured what the heck. Caught a couple micro bass lol.

Left alone or harassed
I've only seen other anglers behaving badly (so far). Maybe if I fished around some docks at my Dad's place from my yak I would get it from a homeowner. But then again, my Dad being a homeowner, I have seen several examples of anglers behaving badly (casting literally on top of my popper, crowding me when I'm fishing). My Dad is cool within reason. Had a guy walk up and start fishing the bank right in front of me once. Literally in front of me with six feet of space between water and shore, maybe. I was tying on another bait. He knew I was there because I'd just weighed his kid's first fish for him. It was a long piece of shore too. I didn't say anything because of the kids, and I was kinda dumbfounded as well as upset. Even his kid gave an uncertain look. Even a non-angler can't be that dumb! I still don't get that one. Probably the utterly lamest thing I've encountered. And I dunno it seems dangerous and unethical to knowingly leave someone behind in a boat that is broken down. Especially since (read above) anglers are often the jerks. Then again, that kinda fits.

Xps Ewg compared to the Gamakatsu Ewg hook
Oh ya, Monster Cables anyone? If a million people believe in BS, it's still BS. But anyways, I just ordered some Lazer Sharp 4/0 from BPS, and some 2/0s. Sold out in the store here. I'm pretty new to bass fishing so that's where I'm at now.

Bass Abduction Tales - Do Other Fish Believe Them?
Me and my friend sometimes joke about what a fish thinks after it's been released (probably nothing at all). Just having fun. Someone once asked me if I'd still fish if the fish screamed in pain and begged for mercy. So this thread was born. Or spawned. I guess. Ya I get weird sometimes

Is the misery of kayak fishing worth it?
At that point I don't see the advantage over a jon boat. I'd launch that rig with a trailer, and I'd need to register the yak (trolling motor). It's obviously personal, some people love to kayak. I mean the kid in me sees that setup and it's awesome. I love it! That's why I bought one. But the reality of being in a kayak just doesn't work for me. It isn't comfortable for me and I have an awesome seat. It's just too restrictive. I don't like twisting 180 degrees for stuff. I don't change baits as often because it's a pain. I feel constricted. But that's just my personality and opinion. Definitely try one first.

Bass Abduction Tales - Do Other Fish Believe Them?
Meanwhile the aliens are fishing for us... "Dude don't let them see you, they got weapons! And you gotta release them a lot closer to the ground next time! I know it's funny, but..." "Don't worry, it was just another cow" "Way too many cows in this spot. Messin' up my probe. I mean why would a cow go for a cheeseburger? Seriously?" "I'm tellin' ya, use the hoooot wiiiiings......" "pffft...that's just hype..." I think it's bedtime.

Bass Abduction Tales - Do Other Fish Believe Them?
It just struck me that a fish's experience when caught and released must be similar to those folk who claim they were abducted by space aliens! Are aliens just fishing for humans for fun? When a fish is released do the other fish believe their story? Has anyone ever come across a Youtube channel where fish discuss their abduction experiences? Bob The Bass: "Like others here have said, it didn't look natural at all, but I tried to eat it anyways. I was compelled somehow. It was the strongest doggummed worm I've ever come across and it pulled me right into another dimension. Believe me, you don't want to experience what I did"

Common or not
From the above link: Not too shabby. Cool, questions answered!

Has a woman ever competed in a major BASS event or one like it with the men? I remember the first female drag racer and some others. I think women could compete with men and possibly kick butt. For some reason I think women would make better natural anglers but I have nothing concrete to base it on. I'd like to see women go for it, I think it would be interesting.

Common or not
I could only offer a guess as to the reason. Men just may like fishing a lot more than women do, like I doubt most men do "scrapbooking". I didn't know exactly what this was until I saw my Mom and sister doing it once, and I was like "You do this for fun?" My cousin's wife will fish with us and enjoys it. My friends girlfriend will fish, and one of my female friends has fished with her friends. I'm positive that none of them have ever gone alone though. I also know there are a few women on this board and that there are women's bass fishing teams and clubs. Maybe dudes just won't leave them alone so they don't bother going? Final guess: women don't like fishing nearly as much as men do. Edit to add: Seems that a girl subscribed to my YouTube fishing channel recently. Seems legit. I have about 170 subscribers. Shrug. I doubt it was for my looks (I'm the dry one in my avatar photo)

Xps Ewg compared to the Gamakatsu Ewg hook
In my opinion there is more hype and bullpucky in fishing than just about any other industry I've been involved with as a consumer. You are correct to be skeptical about all of it. "Ignorance killed the cat, curiosity was framed."

Best Creature bait on a Texas Rig
Oh no someone said Googan! Get out before the door slams shut on us all! I like Speed Craws and BPS Crack Craws but only because they're the only ones I've tried and they both catch fish!

Autographs
Anybody who wants one I only charge $50 a shot.

Common or not
I've seen a woman fishing by herself once in person, and I'm not sure if she was actually alone or not. I mention "by herself" because I have seen women fishing with men, but I have never seen one crawling the banks or fishing out of a boat of any kind, ever, by themselves. I know women who will fish and have fished, but again, not alone. Not like me. It's a bummer really. I also don't live in a big outdoorsy area. I'm in the Bay Area where the kids never ever play outside anymore.

Is the misery of kayak fishing worth it?
I haven't decided yet. I will probably sell mine and do a jon boat. I need to be able to move around, and I want a trolling motor too. IF IF a pedal yak comes at the right price I may consider that instead. Paddling is a problem with my tendinitis and I'd rather save my strength for actual fishing. Could be a game changer. But probably going to do the boat and add a casting deck and seat. I don't like being stuck in the yak seat.

Boating Fatality Facts ~
In a boat you can always wear the inflatable, but put on a foam vest in rougher conditions. No need to inflate it needlessly. I'm thinking about buying an auto inflate for trout fishing off rocks in a potentially hazardous river. A big blue sign says "People have drowned here". Yikes! Haven't fished it yet. I just don't know if I'd trust an autoinflate with my life. I also have never fallen into a river, but it can happen, and I'm not getting any younger.

No reasonably priced bass boats?
One day soon Amazon will have some Piscifun, or Souyanglingding, or BigFunYouGoFishDumDum brand bass boats for practically nothing, plus free shipping.

Okuma Celilo - tip broke/snapped brand new
I pushed my rod into the ceiling fan twice tonight (accident!) while respooling. Some old Cabela's rod my Dad gave me. Not a problem! "WHACK WHACK WHACK...son of a...oh whew!"

Helping rookies. I love it
He did ask first. I fished with a guy in a small aluminum boat last year, not my boat. A young guy on shore was upset because we drifted into his area, although he really cut in front of us. We talked it out and the guy I was with didn't want to move as we'd just caught fish. Long story short the guy on shore hucked a few casts close to our boat. The guy I was with wanted to do something about it. Rather than finish this story, I will just say you'd better be darn sure who you're messing with. Really really dumb idea. Nothing happened I talked him down.
