Liquid Mayhem. Better than Megastrike?
Try a blind test. Have another person put the scent on your baits so you don't know which is which. Maybe even put no scent on sometimes. Then you guys can tally up the score without any bias. I will guess that all 3 act the same. It would really take extensive testing to determine a winner. In fact it will take more testing than I've ever seen to determine whether or not scent works at all.

Underrated: Bass Pro Stik-O-Worm
I like 'em. I use those or YUM Dingers, not caring which I put on, and usually not noticing. But I've never tried a Yamamoto Senko. I'd say BPS Stik-Os are a little tougher than dingers. If YUM would get rid of the slot in them they'd be perfect.

Kayak cart for ss127
One inch PVC with a 5/8 copper tube axle, mainly because it was all I could find local that would fit the wheel bearings. I can't imagine this thing holding together without the second crossbar. If you make the rails the right distance apart you shouldn't get much outward force trying to split them. Maybe even slightly inward due to curvature of the hull. I should have used foam rubber pipe insulation instead of just foam. Still works though. I think maybe the kickstand should face to the rear rather than forward so I don't spear anything on the ground. It comes apart but it's hard for me to reach. I'll pull the cart backward next time and try it. Here's a video of this cart if you want to get a closer look at how it goes together.

Kayak cart for ss127
Made this. Used 5/8 copper tube for the axle, pipe foam for the rails, glued most of the PVC, used clips to hold the rest together. The kickstand thing could be better. Harbor freight has many types of wheels in stock for $10 or less. Use a strap to keep it fastened to the yak. Fits my Wilderness Systems Ride 115 perfectly and I can bounce it around all over. And it fits in my front hatch. Comes apart in less than a minute.
- How much does this largemouth weigh ?

Help Us Celebrate 25 Years!
Delta here too. I also like Lake Tulloch. It's fed by New Melones and near Don Pedro and other so-called Motherlode lakes, but it's relatively unknown. It's almost always full, by law, and it's beautiful with pretty nice large and smallmouth. It used to be a party lake but the resort is now a rehab facility haha. It's been pretty quiet in recent years. My Dad lives on it so I'm biased. But ya, Delta, and I've barely even scratched the place.

Finally caught a bass with something other than my lure in its mouth
I believe it is called the vent. Only thing I've found in a fish mouth was my own hook from half an hour earlier. Was a striper in a river. I set him free, sans hooks.

Advice On Bank Fishing Lakes In Central CA?
Cool man! I've been bass fishing only 3 years, I have not even tried a drop shot yet haha! Right now I'm trying to catch a bass on many different baits. First chatterbait catch last year. First senko catches too. I like crank baits for some reason and T-rigged flukes. never caught on a jig. but have only tried a few times. I fish a lot but I guess I need to try more things now. And more locations of course! Should be a fun year.

Advice On Bank Fishing Lakes In Central CA?
After looking it up on a map I decided to take my Dad on the short hike up Table Mountain. Sounds like it should be beautiful this time of year. I'll take a look at the water level while I'm there and figure if I'm gonna fish it. Looks like a good spot. If I head that way I will look you up, thanks! Except that after seeing those fish in your avatar picture I think you're gonna need to teach me! Awesome forum! Thanks guys.

2 shot club
Just want to clarify that this is not the drug that is associated with the blood clots, it is the AztraZeneca one, and it is not known whether the shot causes it or not (last I heard). I'd post a link but I can't choose one so here are search results. https://www.google.com/search?q=covid vaccine blood clots A coworkers Mom had Covid before Christmas and she still cannot smell or taste food. She asked during dinner if the sauce that she cooked tasted okay because she couldn't tell, and then started crying. Food is one of life's greatest pleasures. I can't even imagine that.

Headed to lake Comanche tomorrow. Any tips?
I was gonna hit the Delta this week and saw the wind forecast and decided to wait. Ended up having to go to work anyways. I'm only fishing the bank but I've done a lot of wind fishing there. Just wasn't in the mood for wind in my face all day. But I'm going no matter what when I have a few days off.

Fish coming off on Chatterbait?
Great point!

My GoPro is coming today. What body mount?
Here is an example of a catch on a headcam (vid starts halfway through the catch). I pretty much look down only to make sure I don't fall off the dock. And ya I get excited. This was during the California fires last year. My Dad's dock on Lake Tulloch. My 3rd largest LMB 4.2#

My GoPro is coming today. What body mount?
If you can, get two. I use a head one, and like I said in a recent thread (and AJ said above), you will learn real fast how often you really move your head when you watch the vids. You can train yourself, and edit out the shaky stuff. Or maybe not, give it a try. My early vids were really bad but I have a better camera now (motion stabilization) and am aware I'm recording, at least enough to get good edited videos. It's not like I'm constantly thinking about the camera, but sometimes I do plus I guess I'm used to it. And tell you what, when you're fighting and landing that fish you will be focused right on it the entire time. When I'm playing with a T-Rig I look all over the place, but once I get a strike I'm on it. And that's the best part. I shoot some panoramic shots too. Can use them to replace shaky footage while keeping audio that you still want to include. Anyways, the second cam I like to put on shore somewhere, or mount it behind you on the yak, ala Greg Blanchard. In a kayak your head will look around but your chest will remain pretty forward facing. With a head mount, if my eyes saw it then I got it on video as well. I don't miss anything that way. Chest mount you might miss the battle and any fish jumping. Get a $20 pack of goPro mounts and try them all. Edit: I use one of those hat brim clip mounts. Looks like a giant clip some people use on chip bags. It's never fallen off. Get a hat with a strong brim I like it because I can grab the cam easily and point it at something, or myself, or stick it underwater. You can also clip it to tree branches, your yak, or even your rod for some weird shots.

Brainfarts while rigging?
I have a knack for tying a palomar knot, tightening it, and it coming apart. What the...?

Fishing In Wind for Bass
When casting parallel to shore in the wind, watch that the wind doesn't blow your billowing line (not the bait) into nearby tree branches. Do a few test casts first maybe. Cast lower when casting straight into the wind. Just rocket it right into the stuff. One pond I fish is protected from wind by the banks, but if you cast high enough the wind will grab it. A lot of people don't realize that they can avoid the wind in that area.

where to put the plastics!
For bank fishing I have one plastics bag (say a Yum Dinger bag) and I stuff it with a few of each of my favorite plastics - flukes, paddles, lizards. I may have 25 or 30 in there. I also bring individual bags of stuff, but I usually only have a few of each inside. I don't carry full bags anymore. Too bulky and heavy. And I have a smaller ziploc for used plastics that I can sort out another time.

2 shot club
Looks good. I like to tell people about my experience mainly so they might feel better about getting theirs. Most people I know have had little to no symptoms, tiredness being the most common. My step-dad was pretty sick for a day. He's 80 and not in great shape. I'm not changing my behavior but I feel a bit more comfortable now. Some of the stress and worry is gone.

Somethings Should Just Be Private
Me either and I prefer it that way! Especially multi-stall restrooms. I have a friend who used to take a dump every time he came over. He even took one on the golf course once. In the trees not the restroom. Had TP in his golf bag. I'd tell him geez dude eat less or plan better!

Crank baits from the bank
I use them a lot from shore. Depends on the location though. My runner-up PB was on a crank from a fairly large shallow pond. Ideally the shore should be a bit elevated (or steep), and there isn't a lot of vegetation in the water. I can control the depth by cranking speed and tip position. I only throw square bills that are rated at 5 feet. If I pull up too much grass I switch to something else.

Split Shot
I like using them for quickly adding weight to a rig. I use the removable kind. They have their pros and cons but I like them for that reason. Bank fishing I carry two rods max and it's cool to be able to throw on a weight for a few minutes to see it it helps in certain situations. Maybe punching through a light mat or just to keep the bait below the surface in current. I also have tiny bullet weights.

Advice On Bank Fishing Lakes In Central CA?
Awesome thanks! I'm getting excited to explore. I may go to a local lake tonight and fish and stay the night so I can test out my setup. Make sure I haven't overlooked anything before I take a longer trip. I can't find a Kennedy Meadows close to that area. That whole area though, Lyons, Pinecrest etc looks amazing. Are there trails down to the water at Melones where you mentioned? Looks like a good distance on Google maps. Which is fine, just want to make sure I'm in the right area. Thanks again!

You should have been here the other day
Most of us are like this so this comment isn't in any way directed at this poster, but dang that is soooo wrong. We work way too dang much. I'm 53 and rethinking how much I work, toys be darned (censor). I want to fish and I do not want to work and that is my goal from now on, at least as close as I can get to it. Obviously I'm not married

Has anyone been a pioneer?
Every time I see someone cast into a tree then get lucky and pull it free so it plops into the water, I think to myself, "ya...I started that! That's my move!"
