  1. Many people complain about the price of tungsten but i just don't see it, If I'll buy the best hooks I can and high quality plastics why is it such a travesty to pay $5 for 4 weights. You will pay $15 for a lucky craft that if u hang it up you lose a $15 bait, you can break off 12 tungsten weights to equal one lucky craft. And if your that worried about breaking off use heavier line or learn to tie a better knot.
  2. bass pro rod balancing system or something its on their site
  3. Anything made by Jewel Jigs best jigs I've ever used IMHO
  4. same here the one in my avatar was caught on a white pure poison 7lb 12oz 23 and 3/4"
  5. X8 The fish in my avatar was caught with a white strike king pure poison attached to my line with a speed clip
  6. the norman speed clip is basically a cross between a clip and a split ring they dont really affect the action much especially on crankbaits or something you would walk to dog with. The reason to use a clip or a loop knot is the bait will work more freely thats the same reason many people use the loop knot on jerk baits as well to get a more erratic action.
  7. Work the bait with the rod instead of using the reel to twitch your bait
  8. For me i used to use all lead and people used lead for years and i honestly don't see too huge of a problem with that, but for me i switched over to tungsten because its smaller profile and the fact that its soo much harder and denser than lead and is much more sensitive. When using a G-loomis rod its like a handicap almost. I started throwing tungsten and felt the bottom and structure like never before so I switched and I'm not going back to lead, I even use the tungsten beads on my C-Rigs now too as well it has a little different sound than brass and glass and i have more confidence in it. One thing though is to get the full potential out of using the weights use a sensitive line like a co-polymer or a fluorocarbon and a sensitive rod. Oh forgot last thing, for me the fact that I can catch possibly 20 fish on one weight and the weight costs $1.25 that averages to $.05 per fish while i'll spend $.60 a bait to throw a senko that i might catch 2 fish on before the bait is trash
  9. A lot of Shimano's '08 line up are already in stores, the new spinning series as well as their new casting reel the CORE are already out.
  10. This isn't just on reels look at 90% of the baits in the store its on just about all of them, its because all of them contain lead. It must be a pain in the butt to live in California everything gives you cancer out there, so as long as you avoid fishing the west coast like the plague your reels and fishing tackle will never try to kill you.
  11. Typically I use seaguar fluorocarbon when I'm using techniques that would require line watching namely because i started having more hits using it but if I'm fishing stained or lo vis water conditions I'll use good 'ol IzorLine 12# or 15# clear, It has more of a white color above water and is easy to see.
  12. thank you pfluemis I forgot i was looking at the 78 that i have and talkin about the 84
  13. what do you mean they dont have sizes and if you go with loomis you have a rod for life they have imho the best rod warranty on the market you step on your rod close it in a car door get mad break it in half call up loomis and for $50 they will get you a new rod on your doorstep no questions asked and you just have to take the broken rod put it in the rod tube and drop it off at fed-ex no hassel and they make one heck of a rod, just my 2 cents the SJR783S is a 7ft Med/heavy spinning rod
  14. Get a G-Loomis SJR783S in IMX or GL3 they are one heck of a soft jerkbait rod as well as jig and worm use http://products.gloomis.com/gl/products/alltackle/detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441760499&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302032507&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181201&bmUID=1194652002844 or better yet the loomis senko rod http://products.gloomis.com/gl/products/alltackle/detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441768925&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302032712&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181201&bmUID=1194651862202
  15. I'm with bassman1282 I'm 20 and i use flouro exclusively on my jig rod i noticed my hits went up 100% especially when fishing clear water lakes also i've observed a better hookup ratio with flouro. Just because i'm young doesn't mean I haven't outfished a lot of people i've fished with that are more than twice my age.
  16. Not trying to get slaughtered here but if you were fishing a big event like an FLW or BASS event and you knew a spot where typically Big fish hold and you need a kicker, and once you make the run across the lake to get to your spot there is a jon boat sitting there fishing it what would you do?
  17. NOPE just call they'll take care of everything, just give them the model number on the rod and your info and they'll ship a new one to you, you then put the return label in the tube they send you on the outside of the tube along with the broken rod in it and drop it off at fedex and you're all done.
  18. Anyone thrown the bait and had success and is there any way to get it run any deeper?
  19. check out the Dale Earnhardt nitro the steering wheel is on the wrong side
  20. Heavy Cover Spinnerbaits some of the best spinnerbaits I've thrown and Eric is on heck of a guy www.heavycover.com
  21. tried it nothing in the shaft its electrical
  22. BPS brand tolling motor problem.... On my buddy's boat with a 45 lb transom mount had an issue today. The motor ran fine early in the day but about half way through the day it wouldn't go forwards and vibrates badly in reverse. Any ideas for a solution considering receipt has long since been lost?
