drop shot rig
do you use a swivel, if not that should fix your problem. i tie on a swivel drop down bout 6 to 8 inches tie my hook and of course the length of the leader varies and then last but not least i use a bell shaped sinker with a little wire loop on top. never had any probs with line twisting or tangling

aba tournaments
Im in Mississippi, for some reason they dont have a division here but thinking of fishing the South Alabama division maybe next year. I dunno yet tho sure would be nice if they had a division locally tho, I dont why they dont have one here, have it in all the neighboring states, may have to do some traveling.

Drop Shotting how to
the way i rig my dropshot is with a swivel on top then about 6 to 8 inches of line tie on my hook and then the length of the leader varies and then of course you have the sinker. I get my sinkers at wal-mart just some cheapos but theyve worked out perfect for me its a bell shaped type with a little wire loop on top. Never had any problems with line twisting or tangling.

A Few Recent Adjustments
This has been the year of adjustments I guess you could say for me, in the past Ive been almost exclusively a finesse guy and this year Ive began learning to become versatile. Before this year it was soft plastics, buzzbaits on early mornings, spinnerbaits and jigs occasionally. But in 07 Ive added several topwater lures to my arsenal, finally starting learning to fish a crankbait and rattletrap effectively. Become pretty good with the spinnerbait and jig. Still working on perfecting some of those presentations and tecniques. Just started fishing the swimbait, another for me to learn. Im slowly transforming from a finesse angler to a versatile one. Im also starting to see an increase in the size of my fish which is always a good thing. One of my favorite things about bassin is learning new stuff.

Best muddy water bait and color
Im glad to hear some of you mention the rattle trap. This is a lure that I was considering for this saturday's tournament but then had some doubt after we've been getting all this rain. But after hearing couple of you guys having luck on em in muddy water looks like I need to stick to the plan, Ill definetly have one tied on.

Drop Shot Weight Shape
me too, i hear alot of people talking about having probs with line twisting and the set up getting tangled up, I dunno how everybody rigs theirs but I fish a drop shot alot and I never have these probs. I tie on a swivel drop down about 6 to 8 inches i tie my hook and then the leader between the hook and the sinker and the length of that may vary depending on the situation. Those bell shaped sinkers with the little wire loop on top is the only sinkers Ive ever tried on there but they worked out for me perfect so Ive never seen the need to try anything different.
