Best muddy water bait and color
So we've been in somewhat of a drought until the last week and alot of water has been dumped in here. Fishing a tournament this weekend and I know the water is gonna be muddied up. From my past experiences a StrikeKing black buzz bait and the Strike King and Booyah Jigs in blue and black have worked best for me. So in your opinion what is the best muddy water bait or the best color to use in muddy water?

Industry role models
KVD is my role model, first of all the guy is a fishing machine, he does it all so well. Everytime Ive seen him he's always conducted him self in a very professional manner and shows good sportsmanship out on the water.

good crank
Its kind of toss up after this summer between the Norman Little Deep N in Lavender Shad and the Storm Wiggle Wart in Tennessee Shad. Caught more numbers with the Storm but caught some bigger fish on the Norman , my two best cranks for 07 for sure.

How would you fish it and why?
Ill be fishing a small lake tomorrow which I know pretty well but wanted to see what everybodys opinion was. The lake is 84 acres has alot of pads near the ramp and also has a nice sized area toward the back of the lake with a good many of pads. Both place where the pad are are anywhere from 3 to 6 foot of water. Several points with gravel beds near them and there are also some pretty nice grass beds running up the sides of some of these point and one area where theres a grass flat in about 6 foot of water, few laydowns in the shallow areas, the dam ranges from about 15 to 18 foot and theres a creek channel running through in about 18 foot of water. Not much visibility as far as the water clarity about 6 inches is all. Supposed to be 51 degrees in the morning when I launch and supposed to be warming up to the mid 80s tommorow think the the high is 86. So how would you fish where would you fish, what would you use and why?

How to wire aerator
Thanks Bud, I believe you've answered my question about that third wire. I believe I know what I gotta do now, appreciate it.
-
How to wire aerator
well i know the black wire is ground, im pretty sure the brown wire is hot, but im not sure about the green wire. If i knew what the purpose of the three wires coming off of the aerator were then it would be no problem for me to wire it up to a switch but anyhow the boat is a 1985 Performance Thruster, its a 15 1/2 ft fiberglass bass boat. Then again I guess maybe black is ground and the other two one pumps water in the other pumps water out, I dont really know.

The Fishing Offseason
This is why im glad I live down south, man I feel bad for you guys when the water freezes and you're not able to go. Im down is South Mississippi and Im on the water all year long , 12 months out of the year. I mean it get tough out there at times but Im there. Lots of days in the low 30s mainly during the winter, think the coldest I can ever remember it being and me out bass fishing was couple of years back it was 17 and yes I was there at the ramp at daylight ready to go, of course I was the only one there. Dont see too many peeps out on the water on the cold days but it dont matter to me how cold or hot it is I have the opportunity to get out and I usually do. The coldest day for me was 17 and I think the hottest was 106. Im loving it.

Boat ramp Morons!!!!
theres some idiots out there for sure, couple of years ago i was at a ramp loading up , it had already gotten dark. The guy loading up ahead of me several time put his boat on the trailer he would then pull out of the water and i thought for sure the boat was gonna flip over so I finally pull up to the dock and tie my boat off to see whats going on because i had gotten tired of waiting on this moran, the guy was dang near center the side rail on the trailer and when he pulled out of the water it would fall over on its side onto the center of the trailer, it was kinda funny after i could see what he was doing. So I tell him what he's doing and his only response is O. Then finally hes like I dont know how to put it on the trailer cuz I cant see the trailer, so i tell him put the nose of your boat between the taillights on your truck if you center up with that you should be center of your trailer and youll be on there, after 4 or 5 tries I finally asked him if I could do it for him, no problem right on there and out there he went. What a moron.

Big Swimbaits
recieved my swimbaits from matt lures today, decided to try em out this afternoon and i gotta say best swimbait i own. Had immediate results, maybe I just got lucky but its a better looking bait than others I own and seems to have better action, didnt catch a monster but did get one about 4 lbs on matt's baby bass. Looking foward to using this bait some more and learning how to fish it, Im sure its gonna put some good ones in the boat.

How to wire aerator
Ive got an old boat Ive been fooling with, there's an aerator on it but I dont know if it works, its not hooked up and I dont really know how its supposed to be wired. It has three wires, a green wire, a brown wire, and a black wire. Anybody know how to wire one of these things?

Skunk, maybe its my nerves????????
I may be making the wrong decision but this time Ive acutally decided to not prefish considering the weather has started changing over the last few days. Its starting to cool down, the lake is about a 3 hour drive from my house so Sunday would be only time I could prefish before the tournament and I figure in a week's time with the season's beginning to change there is a good chance the fish may move within the week. So Im gonna rely on my electronics and a map I have of the lake and determine where I think the bass should be based on the temps starting to drop. I mean would you go prefish if you knew the weather was beggining to change and the fish would probably be on the move????

Whats a better day on the Water???? POLL
I gotta go with the lunker, I can catch dinks any day so anytime I can catch a lunker is great. Much greater feeling boating the lunker so I voted for the HAWG MAMA's.

Big Swimbaits
Im no swimbait expert by no means, just started trying to learn them. But the route I went when deciding what to fish was to get a good variety of swimbaits and see whats gonna work for me and then Ill stock up on whatever is the best, Ive purchased several sizes of the Storm swimbaits, some of the smaller Lake Fork Magic Shad and just ordered a couple of baby bass from Matt Lures( ive heard of more peeps catching big bass on this than the others) also ordered some of the hard bodied swimbaits from Japan. Over the last couple of months Ive picked up a pretty good variety of swimbaits and Im just gonna experiment with em all to see what works for me. So what Id say is maybe get some of the cheaper ones such as the Storm and then some better ones such as Matt Lures and just experiment with them and see what works for you. In other types of lure that Ive learned and experimented with I usually find that quality outfishes the cheaper stuff but not always.

Skunk, maybe its my nerves????????
Ive got this problem when it comes to tournaments, joined a bass club back in January, only got to fish three tournaments on the season which started over in September. Two of them were on bodies of water I had never been on but I did great in prefishing, and one that I had been on a few times did great prefishing it but I came to the weigh in empty handed. Skunked three tournaments then I ended up having to work alot of weekends, which kept me off the water for a while and just returned to tournament fishing last month which was on a lake I had never been on it was kind of a last minute decision to fish it, like Friday evening around 4:30 I decided hey I think Ill get up in the morning and go fish a tournament, had one fish almost to the boat and lost it. Im always nervous about the tournaments, just cant seem to find that comfort zone, when there is no pressure I do pretty good, but when its during a tournament, well I Suck. I mean Im no great fisherman and Ive got alot to learn yet but I usually do pretty well except in tournaments. Anyone else have this trouble when they started out on the tournament scene? I mean I dont know if its my nerves, the pressure to do well or what my deal is. Headed to my next tournament a week from Saturday, hopefully my luck will change. Any advice, suggestions or similar experiences anyone would like to share would be appreciated.

Some older fisherman just crack me up
I do run into the occasional grumpy old man on the water or at the ramp who has nothing good to say just wants to fuss or grumble about something but for the most part most of them are very helpful and have alot of advice to give. Im always anxious to learn from them, I respect the many years of experience they have and am always looking to learn something new from them or just the good conversation Ive had with many of them about fishing.
