Hey Shimano fans, I got a question
Yes I'm trying to compare apples to oranges here but I wanted some thoughts on this. Are the low end slx reels as, better or not as good as the old green curado 200b's new? Times has changed and technology has grew leaps and bounds since the green tanks we released. Thoughts

Starting of frog/toad season
What conditions give you the green light to start throwing a frog/toad?

Price breakdown level
Just curious on what you guys think. I know everyone has a different budget but are my price categories about right? Budget price under 100, mid grade 100 to 250, high grade over 250. I know inflation has took its toll on reels and rods. I remember a glx was around 250 so my thinking might be off a little or is it behind the times?

St Croix power
Would you recommend tossing a six inch senko on a medium casting with light cover or step to a MH? More than likely using 15lbs Flouro.

200b
Anyone here still using the curado 200b's? The ones I have are just as good as the day I bought them years ago. Just plain works.

Fast or x fast?
I just can't get comfortable with an extra fast rod. I'm I at a huge disadvantage by not using one? Texas rigs or senkos just feel better on a fast action to me. Opinions please.

Just curious on the Berkley fusion hooks. Anyone use them, if so how you like them?

Is seaguar red label fluorocarbon good as a main line?
More than other fluorocarbon brands to me. It sat there much longer than previous lines I used. Just my observation when I used red label.

Is seaguar red label fluorocarbon good as a main line?
Did anyone notice it floats a bit longer before it sinks besides me?

Bait that you set aside
What bait or baits have you just stop throwing that you once thrived on using? I have so many 7 inch ribbon worms (culprits mostly) that use to fish on every trip. Don't know why I put them on the shelf. Bladed jigs just about took over my spinnerbaits too.

House brand rods
Which "house" brand rod(academy, bps, etc) has surprised you with its performance? What techniques did you use it for?

Cold muddy conditions
I know cold muddy water is about as tough as it gets but I need any suggestions. I pond fish with a soft muck/leaf bottoms so anything heavy to drag is probably out of the question. I'm pond fishing with a 12 ft max depth. Heavy rains made most of my ponds about the same. I just want to get a bite or two to relieve the fishing winter "itch".

Pline cxx question
I've used 15 lbs before for 3/8 bladed jigs but find my casting distance suffered. Anyone use 12 lbs instead? Anyone know the breaking strength of 12lbs? I know you probably can tow a truck with the 15lbs. Lol. Played around with 14 lbs XT as well.

Frog rod under 7'
I fish from the bank on old ponds that contain many trees. Anyone else frog fish with rods under 7'?

Veritas rod strength question
I normally use a medium heavy for bladed jigs in the 3/8 size. Can I step down to a medium fast since they seems so stiff? Looking at the 6'6".

6'6" rods
Are the shorter rods like 6'6" slowly going away? I was looking in the 150-200 price range and the choices are becoming lean. I did a rod reach on TW as well. I have two older crucial Shimano mh/f I wanted add to since I bank fish a lot.

Winn grips
How to determine will winn grips fit a reel? Are they made for Lews only? What about concepts, what will they fit?

BPS stores
Just got my annual bps catalog in the mail and I get floored by the prices. I'm down to one mom and pop store with the normal online stores that get the majority of my business. I have a bps within an hour which I go maybe twice a year just to put my hands on some things and buy elsewhere. I just cant with bps, most everything is a $1 per bag of plastics more compared to online purchases. Even my mom and pop is cheaper. I was watching this guy buy things in there and I know he could have saved a $100 easy some place else. Any one else just use bps or cabelas just to touch and buy some place else? My pockets are not set up for those two.

Tarnished spinnerbait blades
Might sound crazy but a dab of ketchup on a rag and rub to brighten them up. I read it on here years ago. It's a cheap way to bring them back and more than likely you have that at home.
