Are sub 7' foot rods becoming a thing of the past? Many new rods I would like to try but Its becoming harder to find sub 7's. I noticed the higher end market especially.

Sorry to add sub $200. Dont know if you fish toads but I wanted something with a soft tip so to speak. May just stick with my crucial line in the lengths you suggested.

Hey can someone recommend a rod for horny toads that is less than 7'. I can find many over 7 but Im a bank only fisherman. I use 50lb braid with an E7 reel. Dont need a broomstick for this application because of light cover.

I know many people say use a jig n pig i cool/cold water but what is the next choice if you have a muck bottom? My ponds have dead leaves mud and just plain old muck. Swim the the jig or hop it? Any suggestions would welcomed.

Another braid money saver, you can flip your braid. Let out all you have on your spool maybe in your yard and then put the old on first so the underneath braid is on top.

Has anyone actually worn a shimano complety out? My B's still smooth to this day and honestly I feel they have ten more years easy.

Is it possible to get a custom St Croix Ltb rod with same details as 7 m/f (stock plastics rod) just made to 6'10 m/f for the same price? I didnt want to bother a builder just wanted a ballpark figure. TW has the 7'1" plastics rods for $260. It will be used for senkos,ikas.

I know a bunch of us shop on TW but what other online tackle stores get your business? Not counting Bass Pro or Cabelas. Always looking for a deal.

I just did a sort of wish list for the coming months. Things that I need to replace or just wanted to try out. Line,scents,plastics,hard baits,hooks and assosories.Nothing but a few hard baits came to $10 each. Nothing over that like a swim bait. My total was over $700. Still have a Seibert order to go for a few things. Plus reel cleaning in the winter. Still want two combos as well!! Anyone else have the baitmonkey beating you up?

Is there a certain "best" time to buy your tackle in your area? I know holidays are big with TW and such but do you buy more in season or out? Winter clearance or here and there with sales?

I'm looking at buying a bulk spool of floro. I know it would last me years since its a 2000 yard spool. Whats the best way to store it? I see if I had of bought the same spool while back I would haved saved a good penny. I normally keep it a dark closet inside my home. Would you pass on it and buy filler spools instead. I finally found a floro I can settle with.

Im fishing a horny toad alot and want add some weight to my hook. I want to buy a 5/o superline hook and add about a 1/16 to it. Gammy doesnt sell a hook in this size and weight. Its perfect for what Im looking to do with it. I "swim" my toads just below the surface at times and the bass love it. Also with a weight this light I can still buzz it all the while I dont have to worry about it flipping over as much. Any suggestions? Owner doesnt have this size and weight as far as I can tell. I use VMC weighted hook but the quality of Gammy or Owner isnt there.

I normally fish Sieberts but can some one tell me the difference in the blades with holes? Run shallower? Thump? I need a few more just may try the ones with the holes.

Closest thing that I can find is the VMC Drop dead Weighted hooks. The 4/0 with an 1/16 works good so far. Its longer than most so hence the 4/0. Like you I favor gammy.
