  1. The movie has to be one of the best this year for sure. It was AWESOME.... I think Batman's love interest should have been way hotter.
  2. Yeah, I am only 5'6", shorter when sitting down 6' rod may do the trick.
  3. Lucky, I was fishing this weekend with a buddy how was throwning a LC Pointer, threw it into some weeds and was tugging on it to get it out. Man, it let loose and that thing came flying at me like it was shot out of a cannon for realz, I lifted my arm to block my face and the lure stuck me right above the elbow .... hahah, hurt like crazy... can't imagine a 2oz sinker....
  4. So I fish mostly 7' rods and am having trouble slapping the water when fishing jerk baits. a 6'6" doesn't help alot, so what do you guys use when fishing reaction baits from a boat. It's even harder from a float tube. So maybe a 6' rod from a tube. Dunno, any suggestions? Also, I probably don't need a super senstive rod for reaction baits, so something mid priced would do? So maybe a Medium stick, Fast Tip? Xstra Fast?
  5. ditto A pair of ceramic ABEC 5 goes for 18 bucks... may be well worth investigating.
  6. I fish custom rods I make myself because I get a sense of gratfication when I catch fish on something I made. Plus for around the same price as the factory, you get a better overall rod in terms of components such as guides, cork, real seat, etc. You can balance your rod to your specific reel, set the guides up along the spine, etc. They also cast better than a factory rod if you place the guides correctly using static deflection. So I have to disagree that spiral wrapping is the only thing that sets apart a custom rod from factory rods. Not to mention some of the amazing things rod builders do with their artistic abilities.
  7. Hello Need a little clarification in regards to upgrading to ABEC5 Ceramic or SS bearings. We upgrade spool bearings to increase the speed so you have faster spool rotation to enhance casting. But have to tighten down our braking in order not to backlash? So, why install faster bearings when the tough part is slowing down the spool to keep from backlashing? So, I don't get it? :-? PS. I still want to do it but dunno what for? lol
  8. It bothers me bad especially on reels I spend a lot of $$ on. But I get over it and it still fishes great. Get the first scratch out of the way and you'll be fine...haha
  9. It's amazing how a name can make or break a product. I bet if it said Daiwa or Shimano, people would buy them at 280!

  11. Looks like the revamped their Middle Line of Spinning reals too from the symetre on down to the sedona.
  12. The stock BB's are ABEC3.. Does Shimano and Daiwa use ABEC3's in all there reels, even the higher end reels like the Calais, Zillion, Steez, etc?
  13. I say ,"Hey Honey, what you think of this reel?" She says, "They all look the same to me" Good.... keep it that way :-X
  14. Man, stuff works but after I fish it, the next outing same thing again So I have to use this stuff after EVERY outing.....
  15. Good choice. I love my Zillion, top notch reel!
  16. I like the St. Croix SCIII blanks. They are relatively cheap and great quality.
  17. Zillion much better than citica... I wouldn't trade my zillion for 10 citicas Well, maybe then sell the citicas to get 3 zillions.... Buy a zillion.
  18. I use my curado in the salt all the time, matter of fact I use all my reels in the salt. I surf fish too and my reels gets dunked on accident alot, or the surf will come up high and get me. Important is your rinse your reel after you use it. Every month or two I break it down completely and regrease and loobe everything. Keeps it nice. I think you just need a reel good cleanin, send to Reel Mech or do it your self. It's not hard. Here is a link if you want to learn something new http://www.calfishing.com/freshwater/shimano_curado_maintenance_guide/Servicing_the_CU200B.html or send it to Shimano and you may get a new reel.... Good Luck sir!
  19. I think what he means is Return for Daiwa or Shimano.....
  20. OK!! That would be pretty awesome! Thanks RM!
  21. Yeah Maybe I'll open it up and check her out. I was thinking the Assist stopper pawl may be the culprit. Then again, probably take it down the street as I work in Irvine to see if they can hook me up with the parts for free Thanks RM Funny thing is it's been doing it ever since I got it. Oh yeah, ultimate durability... works even with missing parts...awesome.... ;D
  22. Owners, Does your TE200GT make a clicking noise when you reel it and hold it a certain way? But if you change the angle or even if you hold it upside down, the noise goes away? Or is it quiet all the time. Mine is makeing a slight tick tick tick noise as I reel. Dunno if that is normal, doesn't effect the smoothnes or anything. >
  23. TICA Cetus SB500 for UL panfishing and trout fishing. Super smooth and strong. Light and really is an UL reel
