They had the 6.2s listed at $181. + the extra 15% off code (that ended yesterday) brought it down to $154. Never seen Curado DCs anywhere near that low before.

I called them yesterday and asked what Open Box was. I specifically asked if it was items that had been returned. The representative, said "no, not returns. Just items that have been taken out of the package for some reason, demo, etc, or the original packaging just isn't in tact any more".

Can get 6.2 Curado DCs from Midway right now for $154 before tax. That’s pretty crazy. Can also get TFO Tactical Bass 7'4" glass cranking rod for $69. That’s seriously one heck of a cranking setup for $221.

Well shoot. Went to order the 7’3” Combat Stick and it was gone before I got done checking out.

I think the 7'3" that is on sale is the "jig casting" rod. Not the 7'3" bladed jig rod. ?

Which models did you get?

8 flipping jigs, a Frittside 7, a Curado MGL 150, and a Dawia Rebellion rod for $253 shipped. Not too shabby. Daiwa BG's are similarly priced at Midway too.

Boy there are some real good deals to be had if you look around a little. Think I'm going to grab a Daiwa Rebellion 2pc travel rod for $85, and an MGL 150 for $135. Really good deal on BG Spinning reels too.

ultimate froggin reel?
Theoretically a stronger reel than the Coastal 150 too.

ultimate froggin reel?
7’1” Tatula H/F. 832 55lb.

ultimate froggin reel?
I toss HBFs quite a bit. These are my two favorite setups (although the Zillion is MUCH more refined)

VMC weedless Neko/Wacky hooks?
Same here. They hang up pretty bad at this point in the year in a couple of my favorite spots. I have a bunch of the flouro style weed guarded hooks, so I use them. But I find their effectiveness mediocre at best.

What is the Point of Rod Sleeves/Socks?
Undivided locker here as well. I cannot imagine NOT using socks. No tangles, no guide snags or damage.

Road trip prep
Wouldn't leave home without these two.

Drain/dry very quickly, and are plenty comfy.

Lews hack attach reel at Academy?????
- Keith Poche
So over 14,000 weren't? Heck, I think even my ratio is better than that. But I digress. This train is pretty well derailed. Or rather, this boat has "jumped the dam" (couldn't help myself). It seems like the Poche drama has died down, so this thread probably should too.- Lews hack attach reel at Academy?????
FYI. I confirmed with Lew's. The black Hack Attack reel is the same reel as the KVD. Just different paint and knobs.- Keith Poche
Idk? Ask @Catt. He's the one that initially brought up the "legality" of Keith's actions. As to why it's still being discussed? Who knows? Why do people sit around and discuss things? Why do we ever spend an appreciable amount of time on internet forums talking about things that (so much of the time) have no real value? It's just what happens. You've posted over 37,000 times on this forum alone. I'd guarantee that some percentage of that also falls into the "who cares" category. ?- Keith Poche
I meant what I said: "If there is an actual State, TP&W, etc publication that specifically prohibits taking a boat across that dam, I’d hop in your corner without hesitation." The company I manage has a professional relationship with TP&W. Contacting them isn't a problem. However, someone's verbal opinion on the legality of the action holds little weight if they cannot cite an official written regulation specific to it. If there IS anything official published, it's so obscure or buried that no one in this thread has been able to produce it, which is another issue in and of itself (but lets not get into the bureaucratic nature of it all).- Keith Poche
I don’t understand why you keep appealing to you’re own authority, if you can’t even post or link a rule/regulation that backs up your assertion? No one is trying to prove you wrong. It’s just an silly Internet forum discussion. You made a claim that something was illegal/prohibited, and others asked for proof (and you haven’t provided any). That’s just how forum discussions usually go. Don’t take it personally. Be objective about it. I’m 100% not being coy. If there is an actual State, TP&W, etc publication that specifically prohibits taking a boat across that dam, I’d hop in your corner without hesitation. But I HAVE researched it. Quite in depth. And I haven’t been able to produce one.- Keith Poche
- Lews hack attach reel at Academy?????
I'm pretty sure it's the exact same reel as the KVD reel. Just with Winn knobs. I bought one. First one I got wasn't very smooth. Swapped it for another one, and it's better. I wouldn't call it "smooth", but it's ok for $65. It does cast really well.- Keith Poche
No. Number 1, that sentence says MAY use those options to access the area. Not SHALL. "The word “may” is an expression of possibility, a permissive choice to act or not, and ordinarily implies some degree of discretion. This contrasts with the word “shall,” which is generally used to indicate a mandatory provision." Number 2, that statement came from a private website (Toldebend.com). Not an official, TP&W, or government website/publication. So far, there's no reason to believe it holds any legal precedence. There may very well be official publication(s) that speak specifically to the legality of crossing that dam. But they aren't easy to find if they exist. @Catt was quick to condemn the actual legality of what Poche did, so I assumed he'd be able to provide some official info to back it up. So far that hasn't been the case. (I'm still genuinely interested to know if that info IS actually out there)- Keith Poche
So you can't even link to anything specific to support your position? Linking broad search results that don't apply to the discussion in question doesn't really help much. You said what he did is "illegal" (or at best prohibited), but you can't provide one single shred of official documentation that says so. - Keith Poche
