  1. I love standing on my bass boats. I’ll give old towns a look too. i like the idea of pedaling in theory, some places I’d be taking it are weed fields that I’m not sure the pedal drive would work well in
  2. Recently picked up a nice 18.5 foot skeeter with a 150, and as much as I love it I won’t be able to take it to a couple of the places near my house (no landing, crap landing, etc). Looking for possibly a kayak to let me fish these places when I can’t get the skeeter out. I’ve always liked the Nucanoe stuff but can’t say I know a lot about kayaks. Don’t really have a budget in mind, but know I don’t want a trolling motor on it. What would y’all look for?
  3. I’ll fish a Texas rig all day. Might play with a few other lures on a good spot, but if I can’t buy a bite I’m Texas rigging or running the trolling motor hot lobbing a lipless
  4. I’ve had multiple tears in my right shoulder and multiple dislocations / multiple separations in my left. i just turned 30 but my left shoulder is already telling me when to go fish when a front moves in
  5. The tracker 175 hull was originally rated for a 90 before being lowered to 75 hp.
  6. Check your oil each trip. Way more reliable than any gauge.
  7. Do you ever feel like you’d get more bites on lighter line?
  8. 15 seems fine for @Catt may not be true flipping, but I wouldn’t hesitate putting 15 into lay downs or anything of the sort
  9. I love it. Fish 10 and 12 lb. Never had a problem. Putting together a flipping stick here soon. It’ll probably have 15 on it
  10. i bought a 1448 with a 25 hp Yamaha all like new for 3800 a few years ago off Facebook marketplace. really mind boggles me a lot of people only do new from the lot
  11. I couldn’t imagine paying that much for a toy. I’ve been very fortunate to come across dam good deals though. It does get tempting seeing the monthly payment on a new Ranger though ?
  12. interestingly the bad weekend I had was on magnum uv Speedworms. First tap they already had it swallowed. guess it was just really the right bait that day. Catch and release is hurting fish populations more than anything. When anglers kept there catch more often there wasn’t as much competition. Bigger fish is the result.
  13. Think any of it is due to the water temp getting too warm? I’m in Georgia and it ain’t anything to have water temp approaching 90 degrees. Water temp might be driving metabolism too high to get much bigger
  14. I live in the area, not a lot for bass. You could look into fort Stewart for some decent bank fishing. A lot of absolute giants 14+ have been caught out there but it’s not as good as it used to be.
  15. Yep. I run a 74 cv plus you a 73sv UHD no issues. As mentioned above just need an Ethernet cable. Garmin sells (reams) one with the weather proofed connectors.
  16. I agree more fish at gut hooked on live bait all day. i also feel gut hook ups are very dependent on the bass temperament that day. I rarely but hook on my Texas rig, but one weekend I gut hooked a half dozen. Everyone was set on the hit, they just seemed to swallow the bait that day. Never happened again that.
  17. I wouldn’t hesitate to go get a decent used rig. More boat for your money and if it’s what you’re learning on do you really want it brand new?
  18. Why are you fixated on new if you don’t mind me asking?
  19. I loved my 1448 jon boat. Flat bottom is a little rough running and can be more challenging tracking on the trolling motor. A boat that size weight is at a premium. Max your hp. I’m really not sure if it’s a good move going 24v on the trolling motor for weight reasons. I decked mine and it was plenty stable.
  20. I really have no inclination to replace the seats. Phenomenal shape pretty much like new minus the few tears, just really trying to prevent them from worsening.
  21. All of them. Fished two months before I even caught a bass. in particular? Still haven’t caught one with a square bill.
  22. Had an awesome deal on a 90’s Skeeter fall in to my lap and getting ready to start the process of moving over all my stuff from my old boat to it. The Skeeter seats are in great shape besides a couple small tears. Anyone ever use one of those vinyl repair kits? Good? Bad? Recommendations?
  23. elaztech has a tendency to eat other plastics and render them to a glob of goo. If you look it up, they’ll actually advertise not to store with other soft plastics. it may very well eat your jig skirts too. Never heard of it happening but it’s possible.
