Do you carry cash?
They don’t in my experience. Mother in law works at a bank, people typically get there stuff back on debit card but it’s more of a process than with a credit card.

Do you carry cash?
Shoot. I don’t carry cash. I had 60 bucks in my wallet the other day I have no idea where it came from. Credit card for everything, never slide my debit. I don’t like the idea of paying right out of my checking in case the card gets scammed. Pay off everything every month. Never have paid a dime of interest on cards. Debt free besides the house at 29

Missing Frog Bites - Me or Bass?
like you always hear on the big ones, frog just disappeared lol.

Couldn’t tell difference between my cheaper and more expensive rod….
I’m not 100% positive, but I’m pretty sure prize money is worth more than their rod endorsements. Pros are going to fish with whatever they feel gives them the best chance at a check. If they can pick up another check while not hurting their chances at the bigger checks, then that’s when you see these signature lines.

Missing Frog Bites - Me or Bass?
So I believe mystery is solved. Switched to a pad crasher jr on lunch break and had three blowups. Felt the fish on all 3 hook sets, and stuck 2. The two I stuck could barely get the frog in its mouth. I think I had fish that were too small for the frog playing with it.

Missing Frog Bites - Me or Bass?
im thinking that’s the issue. I don’t think it’s a coincidence the fish I’ve hooked are larger fish. Now obviously I don’t know the size of the missed ones. But where I’ve been fishing they were likely dinks. I’m throwing open water around vegetation and other cover, so they shouldn’t be missing for too much garbage.

Missing Frog Bites - Me or Bass?
Im fishing a dobyns fury 735 on 50 lb power pro. The past several days I’m probably 3 for 8 or 9 on strike the frogs do under. I’ve had more where the bass just flat missed. The bass ive caught have been been good, a couple 2 lbers and a 7. I’ve been practicing my technique in places that have alot of smaller bass. I can’t help but wonder if the misses aren’t just dinks that aren’t getting the whole frog in their mouth. I’ll have to try down sizing to the JR frogs.

Missing Frog Bites - Me or Bass?
I can sit and look at a blow up all day and not flinch. And when I set, if the frog is in his mouth i drive the hooks home. I’m just setting on air sometimes, not sure if it’s a me issue or the bass just missing issue.

Missing Frog Bites - Me or Bass?
I’m sure this has been covered but couldn’t find what I needed on a search. I’ve been committing to my frogs the past little bit and have been getting pretty consistent action, but I’m not turning them into many fish. Fishing little to no cover, I’ll get the blow up but when I set the hook nothing is there. I’ve usually always waited a pause and looked for the frog, if it ain’t there I set hard. It just seems more often than not I’m setting on air, which lends me to believe the bass didn’t have the frog good. whst would y’all do? Change colors? Set hook differently? Chuck everything into the lake?

Hollow Belly Frog in the Fall?
I just made sure my frog rod had fresh line and played with working over the weekend. Hoping to find some of that fall success myself.

Couldn’t tell difference between my cheaper and more expensive rod….
for what it’s worth, my whole arsenal was dobyns fury and then I picked up a Sierra micro used for a 100 bucks. the jump up was very noticeable, even my wife knew the rod was that much nicer. I still like my fury’s for my moving or weightlessness baits, but for my t-rigs and jigs I went to the sierras.

Absolutely in love with my Sierra micro guides. Fantastic rods.

i agree. If you feel like you’re feeling bites on a cheaper rod, going to a better rod will amplify it (to a point).

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Haven’t been on much lately, or fishing at all for that matter. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer last month, and I’ve been struggling with it. But this spring after saving up for some time my wife and I moved to a house on some acreage, and has a 1.5 acre pond it. Frankly I thought all the bass were stunted never catching anything over a pound, but there’s a massive shad population taking away from the bluegill forage. Wife and I were fishing out some of the shad, and caught a couple blue Gill as by catch and we’re getting hammered by bass reeling them in. One was particularly big and I lost him twice on the ultralight with reeling the blue Gill in. Ran to the shop for bass tackle and a shiner hook and got her first cast. Had to go in after her and busted my behind getting out. 7.3 pounds. Much needed after the past month. God comes when you need him most.

3/16oz vs 1/4oz is there a difference?
I love 1/4 from a casting perspective. Ain’t a whole lot of places I can’t stick a 1/4 oz weight and plastic.

Service Life Of Soft Plastics....????
I’ve actually until recently kept them in planos, but after a recent move the boat (and now tackle) are in a large shop that doesn’t keep the humidity out as much as my old garage. Found a lot of my worms (black and Ol monsters in particular) were soaked wet in the plano and were starting to bubble up. I’m in the process of reorganizing with speed bags and keeping the worms in their original packaging. I suspect they’ll last forever there.

Alligators and Small Boats
I’ve seen them hit kayaks. There was a guy in South Carolina kayak fishing a creek last year and a gator charged the kayak from the bank and leveled his Behind. I’ll try to find the video.

Are you a precision caster?
and occasionally giant bass right?

Are you a precision caster?
Yet another bit of wisdom from you that I’m learning from. ive heard working it back to the boat before, but something about 2 7lbers sends the message home
-
Are you a precision caster?
oh I gotcha. Hell everything I do is either a roll cast or pitch anyways. To glens point, bomb casting to shallow water cover isn’t going to get you far.

Are you a precision caster?
what you mean wasted?

Are you a precision caster?
When I’m on I would say casting is about my only strong suit bass fishing. I can put a 1/4 oz Texas rig about anywhere I want besides in a fishes mouth.....

I think big worms are my next step
Ol monster user. I’ve caught all except one or two of my big ones on it. As others stated don’t be surprised to catch dinks on them. You’re just appealing more to the bigger bass when you have one in front of you.
