  1. now thats when you can tell somebody really likes a bait. Jon, what is your best lipless as far as weedy, clear lakes for slow rolling, or ripping thru weeds?
  2. Just curious if anybody that fished Guntersville this weekend found any areas where the weeds are starting to grow? thanks
  3. I'm going to give spinnerbaits a much better try this year. I've picked up some from ***s, Terminator, War eagle and Revenge in mostly 3/8 & 1/2 oz., in various colors.
  4. My most common is 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2. I've just recently picked up some tru-tungstein to try out this year, with some of their peg-stops.
  5. I've added some more custom cranks to my box this year that I'm eager to try out, Big M here on the forum, makes a very nice custom bait. Also, Flat shad baits and Jawjackers makes a very good crank. Stringjam knows cranks better than me, so he may be able to help more. As far as standard production crankbaits, I've had good luck on the Bomber model 6A & 7A redfire craw ( red/chart.) and the brown crawdad, and the Bandit model 200 spring craw.
  6. I use to own one of the 2 man boats. We fish in my brothers some now. They are a ton of fun You just have to cut down on the size of your tacklebox ;D
  7. What if the fish read it and move down to 6' ?
  8. They both look nice. After you get them complete let us know if you see any difference in the action.
  9. For the most part the stuff I take out of my main box I just transfer to other boxes in the garage. There are times I go back and dig something out and try it again.
  10. Nice collection ;D. I don't feel too bad now.
  11. I'm going to give lipless a much better effort this year than in the past. I've picked up several different brands, most of the ones discussed so far here, and I really need to learn and experiment with various retrieves. For the most part I've just always just burned them over weedy flats.
  12. Having a huge BPS just a few miles away is a double-edged sword...I go at least twice a week to browse around, but the bait monkey jumps on my back and starts chewing my ears off until I give in and buy more goodies. ;D
  13. Just curious if anybody has been recently and how you did, and what the water temp. is now? A couple BPS guys said they have done real well there recently, and the UPS guy delivered my TW order and showed me a pic on his cell phone of some buddies with 4 fish, 2-5's, a 6 something, and a 7-4. They looked all bundled up in coveralls, gloves, hats :-/
  14. Your lipless collection sounds like my crankbait collection. I keep thinning them out and had to buy another tacklebox just to put the ones I thinned out in. Now I got 2 boxes in the garage of stuff I don't use much. But, I have pulled stuff out and gave it another try at times, a reprieve ;D
  15. yea I had to unstock some to make room for the new items I picked up. I got a pack of the tru-tungstein weight pegs to try this year. I mostly needed to thin out my worms/soft plastics. I've learned a long time ago though, don't give them away or throw them away, because you may go back to them or decide to use them again.
  16. I think they look real nice, post up another pic after you clear coat them.
  17. What new lures have you added to your box this winter? I've been buying some new stuff to try this year and restocking up on a few items. I'm trying to expand into different lures that I've overlooked in the past, or just did not give enough effort to, spinnerbaits, jigs, lipless to name a few. And, picked up a few new type/brands just to try out. I'm going to be broke before spring if I don't slow down buying. ;D Not sure if this link will work : http://s689.photobucket.com/albums/vv251/SnappinTurtle_photos/new%20fishin%20stuff%202010/?albumview=slideshow&track=share_email_album_view_click
  18. Gold Sexy Shad for one, won't be available for at least a month, probably closer to 2-3 months. I was at BPS yesterday for the start of their sale and it was like a mad rush to the Redeye shads. BPS had them set-up at two different spots, they were selling like hotcakes. A BPS guy was trying to re-stock them out of a plastic bin and guys were reaching in the bin grabbing one, quite a scene. Many was asking about the gold colored one KVD won on. Strike king will make big $$$ off KVD's win.
  19. Nice work Marty. you been a busy beaver lately ;D
  20. The one I've done best on so far: Rapala rattlin rap(firecraw) a couple I've got and not done much on: X-calibur one-knocker, Lucky craft lv-500, LC lvr d-7. Some I recently bought I'm going to try this year: Sebile Flatt shad 66sk and 77su, strike king redeye, Excailbur xr-50's, Viper design risebacker, Megabass silent aka tora. A few I'm looking at buying: Evergreen buzzer beater silent, Jackall tn-60 silent, Megabass vibration-x silent smatra. ;D
  21. Very nice batch Marty its hard to pick just one, they all look nice.
  22. Nice work Marty I like the Chocolate shad and the Dolphin finish the best, but they all look nice.
