  1. Has anyone use these spools? How are they? I heard you can only use PE line with them due to the fact that flouro can cause the spool to cave in. But also heard some people say if you put it on very loosely it’s fine.
  2. What gear ratio did you get ? Are you talking about the steez A HLC model you had prior to buying this new model?
  3. I prefer the Steez A II (jdm model) which you can get for 384.00 with free shipping from japan, very smooth and comfortable to palm. I got rid of the metanium because it was too finicky with the brakes, the 2016 model was there best performing model.
  4. I was at a local tackle shop, and they had the 80 and I only took a picture of the part I was looking for with the part number. To be honest, I don’t really think you’ll notice a difference between a bearing and a bushing. The coastal 80 only has five bearings and it’s smooth. I’m just changing them out because I have the bearings on hand.
  5. I was at a local tackle shop and only took a picture of the part I needed. But you can find it at plat.co.jp
  6. Freshwater only, it’s my frog reel. Just replaced all bushing with bearings except that bearing under the gear shaft. Ended up finding schematics for it.
  7. I tried the handle bearing the inside diameter is too small won’t fit. Do you have the daiwa part number for that bearing?
  8. Does anyone own this reel that can tell me the part number for the gear shaft ball bearing? I want to replace the bushing on my coastal 80 with a bearing.
  9. There is a guy that left a review on this rod on tackle warehouse and the way he describe the action was exactly what I was looking for in a frog rod, and my local tackle shop had this rod in stock so I was able to see what I was getting before buying. So far only a few times on the water with it, but I agree with everything that guy said.
  10. Ended up getting rid the Cashion icon frog rod , and was considering the dobyns champion xp 735, but ended up with the tatula XT 7”4 frog rod excellent rod for a 100, and it weights 4.6 oz compared to the dobyns at 6.3 oz.
  11. Ended up picking up a coastal 80H , going to use it for frogs, very smooth and powerful reel, the deep spool holds plenty of 50lb fx2 braid, and the 100m handle comes in handy. Casting performance is excellent the brakes don’t feel choked off like the sv reels.
  12. The problem is you can see from the part’s diagram that was posted that it doesn’t have that feature and this model is only sold here.
  13. They obviously lied about the hyper design concept, no double bearing support on the pinion gear, I did like the color but I will stick with the alphas sv 800.
  14. Anyone using this rod? I just purchased one and found it to be very stiff , I throw the compact jackall kaera frog which is 1/2 oz. Wondering if I should’ve bought the dobyns champion 735 xp.
