  1. That is my thinking as well. But then doesn't it reason that it will be drowned back to death when the water comes back up?
  2. My sister said lake Arthur got 6 inch's today. Wish I would have seen half of that at my house.
  3. Not bad at all. Maybe a tenth of an inch at my house today.
  4. Not sure how salvinia keeps someone from driving a boat throw it. I been doing it for years.
  5. That's how they explained it to me. That it wouldn't hurt other grass directly but after it killed the target. It would sink and choke the other grass to death. I have seen it on the bottom after it died but it was close to the bank as well. Like it had been blown up there and finally died and sank. Very shallow water maybe 6 inch's deep.
  6. My understanding is the chemical they use won't harm other vegetation. That's what I was told. What does happen is the salvinia dies and sinks and it chokes out the grass it sinks down on to, killing it.
  7. I didn't see the airboat in the water but I seen the smaller boat with the surface drive, go in a small cove I fished today. They went in after I fished throw and was working my way back to try anouther round out more from the bank trying to find the fish. I can tell you this there was not one piece of salvana in that cove not one single peice. I had to see it with my own eye's but now I finally belive what others have been saying.
  8. After today I'm just going to put the boat on the trailer and put my gear away for the rest of the year and consintrate on night hog hunting. Sra has lost their minds and I'm more convinced now more then ever they are doing what they are doing so they can have the excuse too use as much water year round as they can. Anybody noticed how far they dropped the water since daylight today? I wouldn't belive it till I seen it with my own eye's today, if yall see a airboat or a smaller semi v aluminum with a spray tank and a mud motor on it just follow it around and you will see what I seen today.
  9. If he had it out in the deeper water where they were catching at (15 to 18) foot. My belive is he was useing it like a good few of use do. As a catfish box, for flatheads. There are several of use up here who have figured out if you drill holes in a 55 gallon plastic drum and let it settle on its side on the bottom big flathead will use it as a house. If you can stand it up slowly enough the flathead won't swim out and once you start pulling it up the flathead natural response is to swim downwards, keeping it in the barrel. I have found a few bass in my catfish barrel before but never nothing big. But it's very possible he had it setup to hold a big bass so he could cheat. But my first quests is catfish trap.
  10. Would you like me too tell you what he was useing that drum for? Lmao
  11. Lmao. Sad to say after the very hard hit from tourneys the last 5 weeks here on San Miguel. Just about everything 5 foot or shallower is a dead zone. Time too break camp and head for the 12 to 15 foot range. Now where did I store my boat anchors?
  12. Welcome to the big pond come spawn lol. You just described every inch of this lake to a T come this time of year. I bet I counted 300 boats in the north Toledo bend park area at midday yesterday.
  13. Right on big Catt daddy lmao. That's God giving back to you for all the help you give us dummy's on here lmao.
  14. Lol good thing greens jeans didn't check yall. Lol. You know how they can be lol. Congrats Catt.
  15. Solid report. Sounds like you seen what I have been seeing the last 3 weeks. A constant day light to dark boat parade throw every inch of bank on San Miguel. We normally have some good amount of fishing pressure up this way but it was off the charts this year. Most days I was sharing a cove with 4 to 6 boats. That and the weather change put a huge hurt on the spawn in my area. It's going to be a slow year next year I'm thinking.
  16. Thanks for the reply. I was looking at that one this morning. Great gun's for sure. I have the 12 ga mag duck model with the vent ribbed 32 inch barrel with fixed full choke.
  17. Thanks for the info. I will check them out. But I really don't have a use for the side view stuff. I'm looking at a lowrance unit right now but will check out the garmins and weight out all my options before I purchase one.
  18. No not really, mapping and GPS isn't really needed. But if a unit in my price range had it plus the features I stated I would take it.
  19. Seen your post on Toledo bend reports as well.
  20. Ok gents like the title says. Finder took it's last breath today so time for a new one. I'm in the 300 to 400 dollar budget range for the full package, unit plus transducer. Things most important too me simple set up and usage, good depth, water temp readings. I use my electronics mostly for looking at bottom changes and structure i.e hard structure and grass lines. So I'm thinking it's time for a unit with down imaging. The finder that just died is 10+ years old now. Not married too one brand or the other but want good clear readings and nice clear images of the bottom conditions. What say the board, what's out there that fits my budget? Oh and before anyone says it no my budget isn't flexible so don't go sujesting a 1000+ buck peice of gear.
  21. You got to get them priority's straight Catt. Lmao
  22. Weather for monday. Clear sky's and sun low of 47, high of 70. Winds 5 to 10 starting from NE and changing to ENE. Will update it tommorw morning when I can get a full report for monday, right now the app only shows up till noon time monday.
  23. Sunshine coming and going. Meduim winds blowing from the west. Finder says main water is 63 degrees. This is all within 1/2 mile of my house. Finding a few fish, no size but good soild aggressive bites.
  24. I seen even warmer water then that yesterday. I sure wish SRA would leave the water level alone, every time they here we might get a drop of rain, they drop the lake 6 inches.
  25. Lmao. You not taking that midnight train or you. Lmao. Thanks for the report. Did you happen to catch the water temp?
