Lol bad weather in Sabine parish on the big pond? Come on baww it's always sun and 75 here lol. Yea the rain is very bad right now, lots of lightning going off. Weather app shows Saturday midday clearing and staying clear till monday sometime after sundown, then more intense rain hitting for most of mid next week.

Main goal is to fish with dad more this year. After that work on my deep water game. Finally break free of the 9 pound area in get one over 10 pounds in the boat. And make more tourney guys mad as heck when I pull up behind them and catch more fish then them. And gave a blast doing it. That's about it.

If I had better electronics too apply the lesson too I would totally be in on this. Any chance you will do this say on a yearly base's. Will be sometime before I can upgrade my electronics but once I do I would be in the class for sure.

I got mine from Wal-Mart in many louisiana. Not sure where your located but you might try your local Wal-Mart. Are maybe Google hook and line maps maybe they have a website you can order from.

Sepulvado is perrty well protected as well but it can get shallow very quick if the water level is down a bit. I had a hard time getting on and off the trailer there during teal season one year. Blue lake is very well protected doesn't matter the wind you can get off and on the trailer easy there. Well as long as you don't mind waiting for half of Sabine parish to finish drinking and smoking and shooting the bull to get out your way.

Carry your map with you at all times. When you talk to a local and they tell you about a spot. Ask them too point it out on the map. Then right the name down on the map. That's what I did for a lot of spots on San Miguel. What you will find is one local will call a spot one name and the next 10 will have 10 diffrent names for the same spot.

Don't plan on it. San Miguel gets hit just as hard as any other area of the lake. Maybe even more so come tourney time. It's typical this time of year for me too see 30 to 40 boats a day from my front porch, while drinking coffee. You know what I have noticed the most over the years? 9 out of 10 boats, doesn't matter how many guys in each boat. They are all doing the same thing with the same size and color baits. Triged soft plastics, worm and lizard bout 6 inch length or a brush hog. Got to think outside the box.

Have fun fishing in the rain this week. I trailered the boat for the next few days due to intense rain fall they say is due too start tonight. I haven't seen any drilla growing but some other types of grass is growning. Some in places I haven't seen grass in several years. So there is hope the grass is making a come back. Guess I'm weird I adapted just like the fish did, I don't need the grass too catch but it sure is fun trying too pull one out of it. If I was targeting drilla, I would start in the north Toledo bend park area, around the islands. If there isn't any growing their, I don't have a clue where to find any on San Miguel. The blue lake/1215 boat ramp area should have a ton back in the (Pocket). Hope this helps sir.

Didn't fish much today. Put the boat in around 8 this morning and fished to bout lunch aka noon. Boated one legal keeper, probably male didn't look like it had any eggs. Put back 11 fat fat fat females smallest coming in at 2 3/4 and biggest at 4 1/2. Half a degree in water temp is what was the deciding factor. Fished 3 coves back of each cove 58.5 front of each cove 57.9 to 58 degress. All my fish coming on white spinner bait today slow rolled around buck brush and scattered grass. I expect it too be much better tommorw and Friday should be awesome. Edit to add. Forgot water depth 1 to 5 feet.

I might not make it out too the 1215 area but I for sure will be somewheres on the backend of San Miguel. In some shallow water slinging a swimbait and spinnerbait. Puffin on a Joe camel and ripping lips. Are branches lol seems my casting skills have gone way down over the winter lol. It was bad the last time out, think I made 4 or 5 new brush piles I got in the trees so much lol.

Don't market it as a target rifle for sure. The 6.8 is widely know as a close distance hunting, self defense gun. Also don't market with anything about 270 Winchester in the add. That will kill your sale chances because anyone who will be looking for one already knows it does not compare too a true 270 chambered rifle. Your idea of the price is inline, it's a buyers market right now. That and you said custom build. To most guys when they read custom build and no name of a top end gunsmith or shop that tells them home build and that kills your resale value. I'm trying to sell a 6.5 grendel I'm not useing at less then have of what it cost me to build and I can't get it sold because I built it and it wasn't built by some shop or company. And I used very top shelf parts throw out the gun.

We have had sleet and snow flurries since around 1pm this afternoon at my house. When the snow flurries stop it's a mix of sleet and rain then back to sleet. It has been sticking it melts after a few mints.

The water color on San Miguel is clear. Like clearier then I have ever seen it. I don't like it give me some chocolate milk any day over this bourbon colored water.

We in the same boat I feel clueless every time I get in the boat. I think the fish just take pitty on me cause I'm old fat and ugly lmao.

Y'all better hit the water before I catch them all. Same bait and pattern as yesterday. Broke off on 4 fish, missed more hooksets then I care to say. Got down to only one swimbait hook leavt, so I shut it down with 27 bass landed six of those took a ride back too the house to be fried up. Every bass landed today was slap full of eggs. I wear size 13 boots just for size reference. Temp was over the creek channel at the mouth of the cove. Found some 60 and 61 degree water at the back of the cove. Not sure if it was real accurate on the temp but hoping it was.

To me where it says 18,28,30,15,21,23 that is what I would call a river swing. Where it says 24,21 and 32,25 that is what I would call a river bend. That's how my mind would classify them. During prespawn and spawn if I could find a swing or bend that came too with in 100 yards of a main lake point with a good creek feed cove with one or more secondary points with the cove filled with buck brush or grass of some type. I would be in HAWG heaven for sure.

Water temp was at the mouth of the cove. Every bass was a legal keeper and all but 1 was so swollen with eggs that looked like they could burst. 2 foot or less of water. Watermelon red kvd perfect plastic swimbait 1/4 once flashy swimmer hook. 16 more I didn't even take pics of. Every one of the bass I caught were in the last 1/3 of the cove. Grass and or buck brush. Who says bass don't bed up right now?
