So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Ain't no thing since all the rain brought the lake up four feet, they shut down on a rising water, now soon as the water starts to show good signs of dropping they will get their feed on again.

At what point will you not use a ramp
Y'all should come try to launch a boat on Toledo Bend north when the water is down, then y'all can talk bout some ruff launch's. Hwy 3229 boat launch is the one I'm talking bout, at low water you will be wishing you had a sup'd up 4x4. Two sets of fold up fourwheeler ramps laid side ways where the trailer will stop will keep you from getting stuck every time. Hope this helps

short frogging rods
To find a rod like that you will have to have it custom made, no company's make a production rod like that I'm sure. But here is the thing, your young and still growing, paying up big cash for a custom length rod now will be lost money in two years when your much taller. And can work a longer rod better. I frog fish a ton and my rods are 7'3, 7'6 and 8' long heavy and extra heavy with fast tip, but I'm having a custom 6 foot extra heavy extra fast tip built so I can throw my frogs up under trees with more accuracy. You may get lucky and find a 6 foot heavy you can use for frogs but you have to remember the shorter the rod the less advantage you have to rip and pull a fish from cover. Hope all this helps and good luck tight lines.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Yea we all good up here, weather hasn't really been all that bad, a lil rain and some mild wind from time to time, not much more then what I would call average. On a side note the frog bite has been on fire with this falling water level and the rain and cloud cover keeping the water temp down a lil they have been crushing the baby sized white and chartreuse ribbett frog. Along grass, wood and banks that have the wind blown on too it. Woke up this morning too see the lake had came up a lil from yesterday but don't have time to fish today.

Good to see someone is still catching. Good to be back from work, made it in late yesterday evening, ate supper hit the water with dad, we found a few in the pound to pound and half range on ribbet frogs up around Rebecca's gas station, if u passed there and saw a blue pro crappie right at dark yep that was me. Had a good time me and dad landed 7 of 10 hits. Probably won't be posting much till next February deer season bout to start so got to get my bow arm back in shape. Colors and size of frog was black with red flake and baby was the size, slow rolled along grass lines in 2 to 5 fow. Hope this helps someone.

Motor Guide vs Minn Kota
I have owned both for several years and several diffrent models from both company's and at the end of the day. My choice is Minnkota, main reason is better features and it cost less in my area to have one repaired and there are more shops around me that repair and sell Minnkota then motorguide. My biggest complaint between the two is gthe dang aluminum shaft the motorguide has that tends to bend if it hits a log head on, my one and only remaining motorguide has had its shaft straightens 4 times since last January.

Stupid mistake
White vinager in the wash and buy a ozone generator the type used on hunting clothes and it will remove the smell from the house.

I would have to go dig out the book from my man cave and I'm a lil busy packing for work right now. You can goggle it and download the mixture, I use to get the chemicals from the local feed store and walmart. Put them in a wash tub over a propane cooker, in the back yard and let it do its thing. Goggle is your freind. Goggle at euro mounting or diy euro deer mount, is what I think I found it under.

Curado I Vs Custom Speed Spool
It's simple really, five years of hardcore bass fishing, the last three on toldeo bend. Started with three Lews reels and seven shimano reels, three years later the shimano's all died and have been replaced by lews, and the first three Lews reels I bought or still being used. I do not maintain my gear in anyway, I bought it to use not look at it, so I run my gear hard, add to that fact I live on the best lake in the world to fish for bass. I probably fish three to four times the amount of days in a given year then 90% of anglers. I came home wensday night from work and have fished every morning and evening since I got back. Just to give y'all a idea of how much I fish. I'm glad you and others you know have had a good track record with yalls choice of reel, I did not and the Lews reels lasted longer. At the end of the day a man can own whatever he would like it's his money, I just did as others and posted my thoughts on what I feel is the better reel. And yes I have been useing Shimano reels for years in the marsh and swamps of southwest louisiana to catch fresh and saltwater fish so I'm well aware of how old the shimano curado and Lews product lines or compared to each other. Hope this explained it a lil better I was a bit vague in my first post, and sorry if my words are a bit sharp it's been one of those days so far.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Ok gents here is how it goes down on San Miguel the past two days. Water 5 to 7 feet, sand bottom, scattered logs and stumps on bottom, grass line just off small creek channel, creek channel is 12 foot deep but runs out and dumps into river channel 20+ feet. Lures bandit 100' s, color pearl and black back with orange bell and a black spot added just above the front hook. Bass are running the shad down big time where the creek runs along the sand bar and goes between a island and main bank, running the cranks with the current they smash them as it reach's the hump between the island and main bank, they are staged there right of the grass line on the current side of the hump. I gave y'all the where and how the rest is up to y'all to find the exact spot. Me and dad limited in 30 mints yesterday evening and we limited the evening before in like a hour. Hope this helps sombody.

Taxidermy
We use a chemical boil bath to remove material from the skulls. Takes about three hours and they come on pearly white, plus you don't have the long lasting rotten flesh smell around your house.
