  1. Black and red flake ribbit frog tied to 60 pound power pro with a 5 size double hook. Good for bass, bowfin, gar, and gators.
  2. General issue Wal-Mart bought rattle trap in gold or silver with black back.
  3. Whatever MH fast tip 7 foot casting rod that doesn't have abait tied to it is the one iI'm useing to fish my chatterbaits, same with my spinnerbaits.
  4. I have been catching a few the last two days on square billed bandit cranks color pearl and black back on points that have sand bottoms and lots of wood in the two to five foot depth with grass at the bottom of point in the seven to ten foot depth. I live on San Miguel, good luck the next few days, if you end up on San Miguel and see a blue pro crappie in a cove with a fat guy in it that's me feel free to say hello.
  5. 38 to 40 pound trust should do you fine.
  6. A dead shinner hooked through the back with just a hook no weight or cork throw it where you think they are at and let it flutter down repeat till it takes it, that's the very best way. Anouther way I have caught a lot of them, (bye the way I love to eat them made into patties it's a Cajun thing) is to throw a 12 inch ribbon tail worm tequllia sunrise color around thick grass and shallow water tress with mud bottoms. That's why we call them cypress bass lol.
  7. I would say 3/8 th should do the job fine for that water depth range, that's what I use the most I have some smaller but just don't seem to do as good with them as I do with the 3/8 th size.
  8. Hearts and prayers to you and the family's that have faced a loss of a loved one this month Catt.
  9. If you could would you post up a pic of the water so we can see what your calling dark water sir.
  10. Friday before the lil front came through me and my best freindwas catching them on w.m. red strike king caffeine shad swimbait with a silver underspinner swimbait hook, and on black and red flake ribbet frogs, all fish were in 1 to six foot of water holding tight to any and all wood they could find, piles of sticks old tree stumps, even a couple of old fence post. Yesterday and this morning, I found a few bass in the 2 to 4 pound range on sandy points with wood on them with a Bandit 100 in pearl with black back most bites came in five foot of water. Hope this helps sir.
  11. It was awesome, that big girl was his first bass on a frog ever. This low water is killing me around the house, they will be up on the bank's one day and bitting good then the next we can't find them. Been talking too several diffrent people that come up and fish the coves next to the house and they all say the same thing the bass don't seem to be coming in the coves like they normally do. I think it's because the brush they normally spawn in is out of the water right now, they come in check it out then leave. Tryed backing off to the deeper water next to where we have been catching them thinking that's where they went and can't get bite to save my life.
  12. Unless I'm fishing down in the 20 foot depths are more I'm throwing the bandit lures. Have some KVD cranks as well but I seem to do better with the Bandits. 10 to 12 foot I'm throwing a bandit 300 in white with black back.
  13. Thanks sir, it was fun to say the least. Friday me and my best freind hammered them with strike king w.m. red swimbaits and black and red flake ribbett frogs best fish we got was a 5.14 on the frog. We ended the day with nine keepers not counting the big girl he caught and put back, we also had 14 dinks we put back most of those were also caught with the frog. I will post a pic of his big bass shortly. Here she is, she was in brush in a foot of water with a mud bottom, came out to kill the frog.
  14. Yea 30 pound power pro, it has been a lil bit since I had tied it on and it had got frayed from being up in the buck brush a few too many times, that's why it broke on hook set. Good to go now cut it back a few feet and keep rocking that bad boy.
  15. Hit a few bass Hester day on the frog in some coves in two to four feet of water, had a good bass break me off on hook set stupid me didn't cut and retie after the knot got frayed. Only one Kepler after that but had seven other bites all dinks.
  16. I haven't hunted out of none you listed and haven't hunted from a small boat in a few years but when I did I loved my fourrivers ebads, even would bass fish out of it. Best tip is too buy you a life jacket like helicopter pilots where that way it doesn't get in the way of the gun and also down size your shells and gun to help with the boat rocking when you let off a shot and also try to set up so your shots or just to the left side of the bow if your right handed. If there is any more info you think you need let me know I can try and give you more help.
  17. Yea it's been ten years atleast since I fished it so I'm sure some of the things I remembered had changed. We use to slay them on flukes and frogs.
  18. I grew up fishing the pool as it's called down that way. Your not going to get run over by a boat, boats only run in the cannels and they aren't wide so you will be seen before they run you over, there are motor restrictions so you gont have to worry bout some dummy screaming around with a two hundred horse motor. Last i checked motor rating was set at 25 max. The pool is a marsh so it's a huge tangle of grass both above and blow the water, also is filled with snakes and gators so react accordingly, no guns allowed. When you enter the pool it's a long dirt road with cannels on both sides you are not allowed to fish them. No fishing till you cross the cattle guard, cross the cattle guard follow road to the left, it will go a ways then turn right, it will come to a boat launch the marsh on the left side before you get to the boat ramp is the best water to fish out of a yak because their or no motor drive boats allowed in that area. I hope all this helps you sir, it's just some of the things I remember of the pool so some things may have changed.
  19. I have my .40 with me and a 16 gauge shotgun. I always carry my .40 for self defense but i carry the 16 gauge for snakes and to shoot branches out of tress to get my lure back when the dummy behind the reel cast it into the tree. Been checked by the wardens several times, still makes me lmfao every time they roll up they grab their sidearms when they see mine. Out of respect for others I don't bring the guns when I take someone with me or when I go with others in their boat.
  20. I carry a Beretta .40 cal Inox full time full permitted and never concealed. One mag in the gun one round in the pipe and three extra mags. Like I said everyone can see it, Why cause I want you to know I have it and will use it if you try something dump to me and my family. The best offense is a strong defense in plan sight, the sight of a weapon and the thought of a deadly fight will often times stop a problem before it starts. I won't list what's in the truck at all times as a fall back wepon.
  21. Here you go fellas 6.5 grendel
  22. A welcome to you sir from Zwolle.
  23. Catt, thanks for taking the time to give me some advice on my questions I had posted. Sorry it took me so long to answer back, fished that point Saturday like I normally would and got 4 bites and hooked 3 no keepers. Got home from a job interview at midday so went fished that point in the rain, got 15 bites landed 12. What I did was anchor my boat up on the shallow flat area of the point and casted to the bottom of the point into the channel and worked my bait back up hill, was fishing a black and chertruese zoom lizard with a 1/8 once weight, I found the grass line like this and all my bites came when my bait cleared the grass line coming up hill. Not one of the bass was a legal keeper, so I'm guessing they were all male bass.
  24. Thanks for the advice I will look those other sites up now. The point is the first point past wild wood headed towards Rebbicas on the south shore where the hook and line map shows the channel running very close to it, the map is a lil off because it shows the boat lane is not close to the point but in real life the lane runs very close to the point and over the channel. My boat has a older model fishfinder and I'm not very good at useing it so I use topo maps more to find elevation changes.
  25. I built me a 6.5 grendel on the ar15 platform and I love this thing. Wish I could show y'all some pics of it but can't get them small enough to load on this form.
