  1. How about getting across the lake and realizing that you forgot to put the tackle bag in the boat? Or Getting a few miles from the ramp in the morning and realizing Taco Bell's late night muchies were NOT a good idea.........???????
  2. And Chaz Bono is a Hot chic............. just sayin Too much like "then next generation Madonna" for me.
  3. My son broke a guide off of my wacky rod. So, like any other fisherman, I decided to upgrade a bit. I didn't want to spend a ton of money (below $100) and after playing around with numerous rods at BPS I decided on a KVD signature series 7" MH spinning rod. Seemed light and balanced in the aisle and I liked the fast tip. Got the rod home, tightened down the reel and then it started. I got a slight chill down the back of my neck. Like a sixth sense that something just wasn't quite right, I picked up the rod and began to lose color in my face. The rod is a split grip with foam handles. The rod seat does not have foam in front of the seat so my hand, both pointer finger and thumb rest directly on the threads=Strike 1 Then I noticed that the placement of the hook holder is in the very spot where my pointer finger rests causing it to dig into my finger at the second knuckle. Very uncomfortable =Strike 2 I decided to walk up to the pond in my neighborhood to throw a scrounger 1/4 oz to test out the action. Castability was good and the rod had a decent feel except for the above. Caught a fish on the 6th cast and rod felt ok. After about the 25th cast I noticed that my right thumb pad at the base of my hand was getting a cramp. I then realized that the rod was so skinny the handle foam was not thick enough and it was causing me to hold the rod tighter and my thumb to cramp up. Strike 3 I will be returning it on my next trip back to BPS and buying a different rod in that price range.
  4. Ironically, there actually is a Kool Aid that is Honolulu Blue..... Called Ice Blue(quite good) And I bought a bunch of it....... LOL
  5. I will agree that the ONLY reason I WILL care is the thousands of people who will be out of work, down in sales, or lose their business because they are directly connected to this business. There are hundreds of mom and pop bars etc who make their yearly nut during the season and are empty in the off season.
  6. The lockouts for both Football, Basketball only solidify my feeling that ALL professional sports is about nothing more than MONEY.... Gone are the days when players actually played for the love of the game. Today, it is about how well do I need to play to get paid? Not, lets play to win... Probably the reason I coach youth sports and would rather watch a high school baseball game than most professional sporting events. I cannot express how sickened I am at the amount of money these athletes pull in. No human is worth that much money.. Pay a teacher, or a doctor, or a firefighter/policeofficer.......
  7. After over 50 years of losing After arguably the Worst owner in professional sports After running Barry Sanders out of the game We wont even start with Matt Millon...... The DETROIT LIONS are 5-0 and looking unstoppable.... 11-0 going into Thanksgiving day game against the unbeaten GreenBay Packers is my prediction Go LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Great Picture Tom Love the lighting... Makes me think of smallie fishing in northern Michigan during fall
  12. I am not from IN. however, I do fish there fairly regularly. Are you fishing from the shore or by boat? You should definately check out www.patokalake.com and search around here on the forums. There are some great threads regarding local Indiana lakes and rivers. Good luck
  13. Being a Lions fan and know how passionate the fans in Detroit are even after 60 years of punishment only makes it THAT much more exciting to be a fan this year Lions Tigers and frozen Russians, oh my!!!!!!
  14. My Lab gets walked every day. The problem is she thinks every walk is a hunting adventure as she normally flushes at least 3 coveys of doves in the fields, or a few rabbits. I guess she knows that it is hunting season and time to look for grouse or pheasant..
  15. Beautiful pics! Man, I actually miss the Northern Michigan Fall. Absolutely beautiful this time of year. Congrats on your wife going with you. It does make for some good quality time.
  16. You can purchase fairly inexpensive fish tagging systems online like these http://www.fishtagger.com/ I would not recommend cutting fins or hole punching. Studies have shown that these may heal and thereby losing any usable knowledge. Contact your local DNR or contact a local college fishery biology department. Most will be more than happy to discuss options etc. It is extremely possible that your pond is out of balance, meaning, you have more undersized fish than you have sustainable food source. The DNR will be able to help you determine this. Good luck and post results.
  17. Tigers in 6........ Verlander pitches a No-No against the Yanks!!!! Go tigers.....
  18. Well guys, I thought I would give you all a recap of our youth hunt as it pertains to the thread: We arrive Friday night to the cabin with just enough time for the boy to shoot the ML a few times to get used to it and any recoil. From 50yards the gun is shooting dead center but about 3 inches high. The first shot totally missed the 3ft by 3ft target. The primer discharged and there was a short delay before the powder burned. Freaked out the boy as he wasn't ready for a double whammy. Second and third shots were in the black just a bit off. I feel certain it was due to flinching. First morning = Rain all morning. Sitting in rain is simply no fun. Boy slept for 2 hours in the blind. Went in for lunch and the rain broke. Boy shot a variety of firearms plinking. 20ga, .410, ML, and some trap with the 20ga. Headed out for the afternoon hunt and rain started again. Sitting in a blind in the rain stinks. Boy slept for 3 hours. We decided to still hunt back to the cabin. I get a call from my brother at the cabin, two does walked across the yard 30 yards from the porch. 3 Deer standing about 180 yds out in the field below the cabin. Nice We finally get back to the cabin (about 1 mile from the blind) A doe is standing broadside 140yds from the porch and watching us. By the time the boy gets the gun up the deer trots away into the brush. Day Two Morning: Guess What? Rain. Boy sleeps in and we get to the blind after sunup around 830am. Rain starts up again and we decide to call it a day. Call from brother, 4 more deer standing in yard..... We get back to the cabin and are deciding to leave early when "DEER" Two does standing in the field below the porch 162yds away. Rain starts again. The boy raises the gun, gets a good rest (on the porch railing) and fires. Deer Jumps and runs into the woods. After some time we go to the point of impact and look for blood. Dang if he didn't hit the deer!! We ended up tracking the animal for 2.5 hours in the rain. Unfortunately, the already wet ground and rain washed out the trail which was spotty. We lost the the trail and called it 150 yards from the inital shot. The boy was devestated. I had just told him the night before that the worst thing is to wound one and not recover it. The weather just killed us... The bright side is that he had a blast and all was safe.
  19. LMAO!! I bet his "van" has a lot of velvet and fuzzy dice in the back with a RAD water bed inside.......

  22. Lets put it this way. Many ice fishing anglers frequently catch both LM and SM bass on the hard water. Fish can be targeted during any month and any condition. You just have to have the right equipment, the right spot and the right presentation.
  23. Definately the Rebel Pop R, then the Rapala Skitter pop. Both generate heart stopping strikes
  24. I have to agree with Grund. Puppets = NOT FUNNY
