  1. I believe there are many reasons for his lackluster year. All justifiable. All of the answers I am sure revolve around his branding. He may be focussing more on branding himself to ensure his financial well being is solid. He is doing more with equipment and lure design, probably more speaking and seminars, Commercials, family, etc. A man has to eat and tournament bass fishing isn't easy. Many of the pros make the majority of their money after they do well in tourneys. It is just a catalyst to the bigger money as their name becomes THEIR brand. Look at Ike, he has really dropped off in terms of tournament standings. He isn't fishing as much but he is all over with his show, doing pieces in magazines, etc. I can't fault these guys for trying to make money for their families
  2. A few feet of heavy chain works just fine. especially if you fish rivers.

  7. That show cracks me up. My 11yr old loves it. I actually think I get dumber as I watch though. It would not surprise me that they are loaded. Making 350.00 a day for catching gators? they aren't that dumb.

Thats Funny Right after the news broke I ran a shot special in my bar The Go USA Sign with a "Bloody Brain" shot. We sold 225 in one night Peach schnapps, Malibu, Take a stirrer straw and dip in in creamer. Place the strw in the center of the shot and take your finger off the straw slowly. The cream comes out and looks like a brain. Dip straw in grenadine and touch it off by the creamer
  10. Question: why do you use the 12 speed anyway? this will only give you less power and will unevenly wear your TM batteries
  11. I have that exact TM. It came with the boat when I bought it. I keep telling myself I will replace it when it dies. The d**n thing is like the terminator, I can't break it. It is a 54lb thrust Johnson. All I do is replace the prop blade every so often. You may have a bad switch. Mine screws out and can be replaced. The website listed above has all of the OMC parts for these motors. Really, there isn't muuch to them in contrast to the newer TMs. I just bent the heck out of my shaft ( hehee I made a funny ) so I may finally be in the market for a new one.
  12. They are listed on Harbor Freight for $300 with a 20% discount right now. www.harborfreight.com
  13. Talk about kicking the beehive..... LMAO One of the things I love about this site is exactly what just transpired. Its like a group of buffalo surrounding a wounded member of the herd. An "outsider" makes a remark that is negative and the "family" defends to the death I truly love you guys........ This site rocks.......
  14. That is a BAD ARS rig!!!! Crankenstein, I just moved from the Kearsley/Davison area, where are you located? I may have seen you on the lakes around your there.
  15. Can you imagine if he was fishing with Ultra light tackle????? HOLY *^(&^*( I have a snag!!!!!!!!!
  16. Even from the warmer confines of Cincinnati i was watching the weather outlook opening morning and wondering if you made the run out there. At least you didn't get skunked. During calmer days during late spring and summer that spot can be dynamite for big brown footballs. As you saw, it can eat up a boat if you are not careful Glad you made it back safe
  17. I AM NOT AN ANIMAL, I am a HUMAN BEING........
  18. I call it something to mix with my Bourbon........ Michigan was Pop Kentucky is Soda or "Hey Y'all want some dat fizzy drink"

  20. beautiful fish Chris!!!! BTW you are looking great. Congratulations on the healthier, fitter, you.
  21. Learn something new every day. One thing I did notice on the Z-8 was that the console material seemed very thin and "cheap" IMO. It looked like it would be easily breakable or crackable. For the money it would seem that the housing would have been thicker and more durable. They don't seem to be having trouble getting pros to use their boats so it can't be too flimsy. The clasps to hold the second console in place looked very sturdy and didn't appear to even allow any gapping.
  22. From Caseville try the backside of the big island and between the big island and the one just to the south. Again, be careful but those spots have produced well for me in the past. Let us know how the trip goes
  23. Ok guys don't get too excited, although I did. I had always wondered about DC boats. They give up a bit of room but are great for riders so they don't get blasted by wind. Then I was walking through BPS and I saw, what I thought, was an ingenious design. A removable DC boat. I believe it was on the Z-8. The passenger console can be removed by about 5 snap clips that hold it in place. I, personally, am not a fan of Nitros but I think this is a remarkable idea. Do any other boat manufacturers have this?
  24. You can also send a certified letter to the seller. Once he recieves it you have documentation that he knowingly avoided you. You can take that to the DMV as proof. You could also apply for a lost title at the DMV.
  25. Charity can hold some HUGE pigs. There are a few precautions you should take though 1. Check the weather. A run the the Charity Isles is not a quick jaunt, depending on where you take off from. If you are in a bass boat, have PFDs and kill switch attached. It is not uncommon to hit 4-5 footers as the Bay in the spring can be nasty and quick 2. Keep an eye on depth and wind all times. there are some boulders the size of dump trucks that loom just beneath the surface, especially in between the islands. 3. Check the weather. See number 1. 4. Drop shots and cranks have always produced for me around Charity. I have boated some over 6 out there as well as had the scariest run of my life during a tournament. I was fishing the backside of the isles knowing there was a storm in the area. Upon leaving I came around the isle and thought there were sailboats everywhere, wrong, 5 footers. By the time I missed the way in by 45 minutes I was sitting in water most of the ride back and it took me 2 hours to get to Bay City. The run only took about 45 minutes going out. Be Careful and good luck.
