  1. All I am saying is save a little money.... I have an 18 ft Stratos and I won't even take it out on the big water in 3+ footers. Outta my comfort zone. If you fish more smaller lakes like 50 to 2000acre lakes the Nitro may be a good choice if it was well mainained. Money is tight everywhere. Save a buck if you can.
  2. Nitro may look sparkly but keep the LUND. If you were solely fishing inland lakes I would say maybe but the LUND will probably outlast the Nitro
  3. Ok. I realize this is the height of the boating season but...... I took my boat in Wed. 17th to have a new ignition installed (remember, lost my keys) and to have them give a tune up. I called Yesterday and they hadn't even looked at the boat. They said that they hoped to have it by the 4th of July. HELLO THATS d**n NEAR A MONTH. These guys do great work but isn't this kinda long???? Maybe I'm just dying to go fishing...... What do you all think
  4. Is your motor "Water" cooled? hahahahahahah I know that one was REALLY bad
  5. It just reached 80 here in Michigan yesterday. Thats been a heat wave up here. I'll take it every day.......
  6. If we start talking about Flux Capacitors I'm gonna LMAO
  7. There has been a lot of discussion regarding ethanol and boat engines. Has there been any studies done regarding the Nitrogen enriched gasoline now being pumped at stations like Shell?
  8. A really good guide should be offering tips and suggestions, in my opinion. That is part of the experience, not just being put in an area that holds a few fish. Anyone can choose not to take the advice. Have a great trip. What part of the country will u be fishing?
  9. Absolutely. However, on larger lakes that I normally fish on my boat access to honey holes is impossible. I do love to fish farm ponds though...
  10. I have left some posts recently regarding losing keys and engine issues on my Stratos. Well today is a sad day. Took her in for a checkup etc. I feel like I lost a child. Quite Frankly, I am just going to be BORED AS HELL!!!!!!! This may mean I have to actually complete a Honey do list
  11. I have tried to spank him but...... That just made him happy Look at it this way, you could be wasting precious money on cigarettes, drugs, drinking habit, gambling etc. At least this is important stuff. You are not wasting you are investing...........
  12. A customer of mine is a boat salesman for BPS here in Mi. Due to downsizing and cutting costs many of the salesman are now having to drive to other BPS to pick up their own boats in order to fill orders. Talk to the salesman,or woman. This may give you a little bargaining power if you pick it up yourself. And, No they probably won't haggle on pricing.
  13. Smoother truck or Smoother wife...... ( i didn't actually say that ) :-/
  14. Somebody once told me that fishing and bassboats are like throwing money at a hole in the water......... But, its SSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUNNNNNN!!!!!! Its my drug of choice
  15. Try using octopus hooks.... You will hook 95% of them in the top or corner of the mouth. Rarely do I deep hook one this way. #2 size is perfect. Don't worry, its NOT too small. ( I can't believe I said that )
  16. Hey guys I thought I saw a post about this but my search didn't get anywhere. Which battery did you hook your fish finder to? Cranking or deep cycle? Whats the pros/cons of each? thanks
  17. Natural My father still uses tru turns. In fact, all he fishes is motor oil power worms on a texas rigged truturn tied to clear blue stren. You must have met him ;D
  18. The only problem I foresee is getting that "Eagles" sticker off of your drawer. I would recommend goo gone and a hair dryer. Man, you don't need a bigger boat just a bigger motor to push that stuff around.......
  19. The worst part is, I keep a spare truck key hidden on my boat in case I lock em in the truck. I will DEFINATELY now keep a spare boat key in my truck.... Good news is my buddy fished the tournament and only wieghed 4.3lbs tough day on the water.
  20. I was getting all my gear together Saturday night for a tournament Sunday morning when I noticed "Where the Hell are my Boat Keys?" Horrified, I realized that two days earlier I had left them on the truck bumper when unhooking the boat in the driveway while my wife took my truck to the store. Needless to say, No Keys, No Tournament......... The F bomb heard round the world followed....... Question: can you have a locksmith cut a boat key? How hard is it to change out the ignition? Is it costly if you take it in? It doesn't look like it would be too hard to do.
  21. It ate some Cajun Crayfish and couldn't take the spice
  22. Maybe its a grave from a sunken boat Possibly the site of a fish kill A place to deadstick a bait? Someone killed em there? I know I know Horrible stuff...........
  23. You know, we get so accustomed to C&R we forget that its OK to take one home for tablefair every now and then. I am 99.9% C&R but after reading this post I had forgotten how good they taste. We don't think twice about taking a crappie or a walleye.... Actually, a fish recipe post or topic would be kinda cool. It wouldn't have to be Bass recipes, I would love to see any species recipe. fish are great tablefair.
  24. well, problem 1. my fat@#% doesn't fit very well into the storage compartments to run the cord through the boat. 2. My FAT#$% doesn't fit very well into the spaces needed to run the wires. :) Would a drain snake help if I taped the transducer wires to them to run them through?
  25. Bought a new lowrance fish finder for my boat. I have had it for three weeks now and attempted to install it twice. The problem is that I have NNNOOOOO CLUE what i am doing. Ask me about a steak( I run restaurants) and I'll tell you anything you want to know, but install what should be a simple fish finder.......... God Bless all of you that are mechanically inclined. I will opt to pay someone to do it correctly. BTW anybody ever needs advice about food let me know
