True. Dude, is that a Koi in your Avatar? Yeah its a koi. I did a report on that catch in other fish species if you want to hear more about it. I released the big koi as well.

You want YOUR name in the record books ?
What are current line class records in california?

Three Bass, One Lunker
Yeah its a koi. Either a koi or some kind of wild strain goldfish. I got him at the same local pond I was fishing at in this report. I did a report on catching him in the "other fish species" section. I also released that fish as well like I do with all my fish.

Three Bass, One Lunker
Here is me releasing the big fish.... On another not I have noticed my fishing has realy improved since I joined this community. I seem to be catching less fish but the size of my average fish realy has gone up. Im trying new things now that seem to work for bigger fish and am learning from other people in this community....

I also caught two smaller fish that day that were about 1 and a half pounds. One on a senko and one on a bass assassin. Here is the senko fish. He looks a lot bigger than he was in this picture. Guy who took it obviously knew how to take a good picture.

Three Bass, One Lunker
Well as many of you know by now I have only tried senkos once and didnt even get a bite with them. After seeing my friend catch a nice bass on senkos i thought id try them again. This time my luck was much better. I was throwing the senko for about 25 minutes with no luck when i got a big hit. I let the fish take it till my line was tight and set the hook hard. From the start I knew it was a big fish. Put up a big fight and I was able to land it. Here he is.

Maybe they are not as plentiful in Cali as they are down here but in my lake and all the other surrounding lakes, there are more of them then anything else. As for reducing the population, for me it's strictly catch and release. In california bluegill is the most common fish in all the lakes I fish. Yet its still illegal. However in most lakes you are allowed to keep up to 5 bass each time you go out. If you throw bluegills you can catch your 5 bass and maybe more very quickly. That is my guess why its illegal. Yeah its kind of a bummer for all the people who like throwing live bait and throw bass back. However its good for keeping a big healthy bass population in the lake.

Catfish Fishing....with a suprise catch(pics)
A fish like that at that size is probably worth a couple hundred bucks. Thing is I wouldent know where to keep the fish in my house. I wouldent want to kill him keeping him in poor conditions like a bath tub while i looked for a pet store to buy him. Also I put him back in hte lake so maybe I could catch him later or someone else could catch him. About the fight it took me about 5 minutes to bring in and he kept swimming from side to side. No big long straight runs to deep water but was still a good fight.

Catfish Fishing....with a suprise catch(pics)
Sorry I didnt know koi/Carp were delicate fish. I always heard they were very hardy fish. Anyway it was so big and id had him tied to the stringer so long since no one was around to take a picture that I wanted the picture taken as quick as possible to release him. I wasnt thinking about that. Anyway he was not bleeding and swam off fine when i released him.

Catfish Fishing....with a suprise catch(pics)
I went down the the lake fishing for catfish with dough balls. The catfish in this lake seem to LOVE dough balls. I was down there for about an hour and had only caught one catfish of around two pounds when I got a run on my line. I set the hook and about 5 minutes later I landed this very big, strange, and colorful carp. If your wondering about the stringer tied to this fish in the picture I did not take him home or kill him. Hes on the stringer because I was fishing by myself and had to keep the fish alive in the water while I waited for someone to walk by to take my picture with the fish. After photos I released this carp. I dont know how big he was but im guessing around 8-9 pounds....

day at the pond
Wow you guys caught a lot of fish. No lunkers but a good amount of decent size fish. Good Job

Your lucky they are so slack on the fishing laws where you live. In california its a $50 fine if your caught throwing bluegill or chichlids. I follow the law and dont use them because I cant afford a $50 fine most of the time. I think the reason for the law is because throwing bluegill makes bass fishing too easy and allows people to catch and take home more bass easily greatly reduceing the bass population.

here is another picture showing the carps two toned scale pattern. If your wondering about the stringer in the picture I did not keep this fish. I had to put him on a stringer in the water and wait for someone to come and take the picture since I was fishing by myself. I realeased the fish after the pictures.

Catfish Fishing...with a suprise catch(pics)
Today I went catfish fishing at the pond by my house. I seem to be addicted to fishing now and it seems I am going fishing almost every day. Anyway I pulled out one catfish of about 2 pounds about 15 minutes in on a dough ball. The catfish in this pond love dough balls. Then an hour went by without catching anything. Then I got a hit and managed to catch this big, colorful, beast of a carp.

Great evening of fishing (with pics)
Yeah I did like the swimbaits when i threw the. Thing is in this lake there are not many places to throw a swimbait since there are so many reeds and lots of brush a swimbait can get stuck in. I only realy feel comfortable throwing plastics in this lake. Im goiong to a bigger lake with less brush this weekend though where im going to throw the new swimbaits and hopefull get a monster bass

Holding Catfish Without Getting Spiked
Just buy a landing net. Its the best thing for landing any fish without haveing to worry about getting spiked, bit, or loseing the fish.

not a bad day

Great evening of fishing (with pics)
Then about 5 minutes later carlos showed me up by catching an even bigger bass on a lure id only tried onece with no luck at all.... a senko. It was a great trip.... we both got a nice bass.

Great evening of fishing (with pics)
Me and my friend Carlos went down to the local pond for some bass fishing at about 5:30. We stayed there till like 7:30. We each caught several fish but the thing that made this evening of fishing GREAT was we both landed a BIG fish. Also both of out big bass came within the last 15 minutes we were on the lake. Before cathching out big bass We each pulled out several smaller bass(under one pound) on various plastic worms and bass assassins. I was throwing a bass assassin the whole evening and was jerking it in when a very good size bass chased it up from behind and took it off the top water. I could see a huge ripple in the water when the big bass came to take it.

not a bad day
Great job but here is a tip on fish photography. When you catch a bass and want a picture of it and no one is around to take a picture put the bass on the ground next to your rod/reel. This way the viewer gets a good idea of the size of the bass.
