  1. Hello All, It has been years since I was on this forum. Unfortunately, I lost access to my other email (College email address) and am unable to recover that account. I am happy to be back on such an amazing forum with such a positive community. Bass fishing in Colorado is nothing like it was in Texas but you can still find a hog every now and then!! (See attached!) Happy to be back!
  2. I recently moved to boulder colorado and was looking to find spots to fish bass near by. I don't have a boat. Any recommendations?
  3. Hi, I'm about a year into bass fishing and I am hooked on it, but I'm having trouble getting bites. I live in Fort Collins in northern Colorado and mainly fish ponds from shore that have weedy soft bottoms. Last summer I caught a handful of bass mainly on senkos but only at dusk. Last year I only caught three fish all summer during the day and two were overcast late afternoon and one when it was raining. I assume the water is colder here than most of the bass fishing world This year I am 0-6 on my fishing trips. Any advice on how or where to get a bite during the day in northern Colorado?
  4. so for us anglers waiting for that ice to melt here in the next month's, what's the first bait(s) you plan on throwing first, setup, ect.?
  5. Going to San Antonio for Christmas and my grandma has a pond in her neighborhood. The pond was stocked with bass (minnows I assume) last year. How long till I will be able to fish the lake and can I fish it now. Are the bass big enough?
  6. I recently went on a fishing trip to the South Platte river between Spinney mountain reservoir and Eleven Mile reservoir(gold medal water) in Colorado. My dad and I caught a couple of small brown trout. The fish had extremely vibrant colors and were very pretty. I believe that they were wild, but I am not sure. So I assume that wild trout are harder to trick into striking, but is there a difference in fighting, average size, coloration, and so on between wild and stocked trout?
  7. Im thinking of buying a 5 foot 6 ultra light 2 piece stcroix triumph to upgrade from the old Shakespeare starter kit rod (all that is left of that combo). Is this a good rod for stream trout? I want an ul because I had a light rod and had trouble casting a 1/32 oz powerbait atomic teaser jig to the other side of the stream. I would also use it for sunfish in my local pond. Im also on a bit of a budget, 90 is about my max.Is this rod a good idea?
  8. My dad and I are thinking about getting 2 kayaks or a canoe for fishing in bugger lakes. Which is better for two people fishing?
  9. Hello I am originally from Phoenix Arizona, i Just recently moved to Montrose Colorado I havent found anything too great for bass around my area except In grand jct they have a few ponds that i spotted maybe 2-3 lb bass but the ice just melted and living in arizona i dont know how to fish cold water so any suggestions on what to use and where to go?
  10. I'm curious if there are, or you can fish for, smallmouth bass in the Colorado River in western Colorado, near Grand Junction. I've Done every google search under the sun and all I can find is that the Division of Wild Life has been trying to remove Smallmouth bass from this part of the river for years. Which makes it sound like there must be fish, right? I mean really they should be paying me to remove these guys from the river for them! But then I look at Colorado's "Places To Fish" Map and the only species of fish listed to be in the Colorado are channel catfish and common carp. But I know this to be incorrect as I never catch rainbow at a pond which has only rainbow trout listed, and catch some monster largemouth and brown trout. I've come here searching for wisdom and experience, someone please please save me from going insane.
