  1. Now that we are a few days into this first cold front down here in Florida...how is everyone doing on the water? The bite has been tough for me the last 3 days - nothing seems to be working well at all. Threw soft plastics all day yesterday, finally landed one on a shallow crank - fishing Lake Harris in Central Florida. Fish seem to have lock jaw - hoping they are a bit less finicky and ready to eat today. How has everyone else been doing?
  2. I'll be fishing a 550 acre lake in north central oklahoma. (Lone Chimney Lake) Were expected to get a cold front with some rain on friday and the tempature is going to drop from a high of 71 today down to high of 49 on friday. Saturday(tournament day) its supposed to be in mid 50s but the tempature at stsrt time will be 40 degrees. My plan was to fish shallow and find some spawning fish with a jig, swim jig, and senko. How should I alter my approach with the cold front moving in? Thank you
  3. Basic Info Body of Water: Neighborhood pond (about 5-10 acres) (Del Webb) Richmond, Texas Date: 4/8/18 Time: 5:00-7:30pm Air Temp: Mid 50s Water temp: unknown Sky: Overcast, misting Caught: 1 largemouth (about 1 lb) Notes: So Texas decided to try and ruin fishing yesterday by slamming us with a cold front in the middle of the spawn. When I should've been able to catch fish on topwater, I was forced to resort to alternative methods. Me and my buddy aren't the guys to cancel because of weather, so we decided to test our skills. After what seemed like forever, I finally connected with a healthy 1 pounder on a Blakemore Randy's Swim'n Runner underspin. The pond had a very distinct grass line, and when the underspin reached he edge, it got smoked (about 1 ft and half of water). I missed another fish of similar size in the same way (poor hookset). I've never been so proud to catch a small fish but under these conditions, anything is good. I also managed to get two bites on a jig but failed to connect. Hope this report helps someone out!
  4. Today's my wedding anniversary and my wife said she wanted to launch the boat and catch some fish (I know I'm lucky, I'm taking her out afterwards). Here's the thing, it's 30 degrees colder than it has been for the last 3-4 days. I'm in central Michigan, 30 degrees colder, cloudy wind out of the east. I've never had any luck with cold fronts. I've read from a ton of you that say you have no problem catching them so my thinking towards this cold front has changed from the past. What area of the 50 acre, natural lake would you focus on? Presentation? LMB btw Side question: I talked to a guy today and he said fish in the northern part of the country aren't as affected by cold fronts as the fish in the southern part of the country. Any truth to this? Thanks in advance for the replies, and thanks for all the knowledge you've shared on this forum, it true my is the best.
