Strike King Premier Pro Jigs

Featured Replies

For those who make jigs, am i correct to think that these rattles are glued in after the jig head is poured and painted?

If I wanted to make something similar, is it just a matter of modify the mold and installing a pin like you do for the weed guard?

Hey M-D,it looks like a unique jig head design for sure, may be quite a challenge cutting/re-tooling to a stock jig mold to get that design.??

I just looked at an older beat up SK premiere [denny brauer model] that i was gonna toss out today, and remembered this post. I pulled off the remaining few strands from the skirt and it seems like the earlier models have the same exact rattle w/ the small barb at the end,but its "heat-fused" to the hook shank up near the jig head with the same small gap/space to hold a jig trailer..

may be easier to get creative w/ epoxy to fuse the hook & rattle together?

You are correct in that the original pro model rattle is fused to the shank where the premiere pro model is as the pic shows which I like better as there is more length along the shank for the plastic to ride. I think the premiere model has a wee bit wider gap between the rattle & hook too. Only recently have I been researching lure making and hope to get into lure making in the near future. So do you agree that this rattle is epoxied in like the weed guard is? If this is the case and I wanted to copy this style would I have to take a jig mold to a competent machinist to create the round rattle attachment opening or?

i cant say for sure M-D if its epoxied in or actually set in a mold when the lead is being poured? you could send an e mail over to strike king and they should be able to tell you.

i also like the premiere pro model better w/ the black nickle hook.
