Best/Favorite polarized sunglasses

Featured Replies

Who makes the best, or your favorite polarized sunglasses. I had a pair of the Bill Dance edition Strike King glasses, but they broke and I need to replace them. I thought it would be a good idea to ask around about them before going out and buying a new pair.

I used to think Solar Bats were great untill I used a pair of Costas. I love them.

Another vote for Costa.

Most importantly buy yourself a good pair. Many people on this site like costa's and I may someday get a pair. Right now I have wiley x P17's and I like them.

Costa Del Mar...You will notice the difference between a good pair of sunglasses and a cheap pair at the end of the day on the water.

costa del mar 580 fathom's here.

make sure you try on the different models...the fathom's may not be the right fit for all folks.

I also have a pair of Costa's fathoms. Best sunglasses I've owned.

I went through a ton of cheap ones until I got a pair of Costas last Christmas. I love them. Wish I would have gotten the 580 lenses, though.

Costa or Maui Jim.  I prefer Costa due to their earpiece design (I hate straight earpieces).

Find a quality retailer and try on several different pairs.  Don't buy blind.

The main selling point for the CDM's is the 400 or 580 glass lens.  They will not scratch and the optical quality of the glass is second to none.  My wife has a pair of MJ's and while they're very nice, I don't care for the poly lens.

Costa Del Mar. Swordfish 480's. Love em. They can be made for prescriptions too. Rather expensive though @ $200.

i have a pair of native's and i love them

According to my neighbor who is a optometrist and a eye surgeon Oakley sunglasses are bar non the best sunglasses you can put on your head. He swears by them and says that the amount of technology that goes into every Oakley lense is amazing. His opinion led me to buy a pair of oakley straight's and i love them. I have never tried anything else but my vote will definetly go to Oakley due to his opinion.

If you can't afford an expensive pair, I really like the Strike King Ice glasses.  I also have a pair of Wiley X P17's and really like them but I haven't had them long.

i wanting to see how many people have Rx lenses. im dying to get a polarized pair but scared to see the cost for Rx lenses.

sqhertz: I've been using Cocoons for several years now and find no fault with them. I wear tri-focals. check them out the next time you're in BPS.

ive fished with costa 580s and maui jims stingrays and the mauis are better for fishing IMO.

Another vote for Oakleys. I've got a set of Polarized A-Frames and a set of Polarized Flak Jacket XLJ's and love them both.

I have a pair of wiley-x p17 and a pair of wiley-x jake

Well, I already have a pair of Oakley half jackets so I will probably just end up getting a set of polarized lenses for them. That was the direction I was leaning in, and thats what I will probably end up getting. Thanks everyone for your information and opinions.

Smith Optics make the best polarized fishing glasses out there. Many of the models are actually real glass. That's why they call them sunglasses, not sunplastics
