Favorite Swimbait?

Featured Replies

Soft Swimbait:  Netbait BK Swimbait 5"

Hard Swimbait:  Spro BBZ-1 Shad slow sink version

Are you talking about REAL swimbaits? Or soft plastic swimbaits? Or baby swimbaits?

So far my favorite are the 7" MS Slammer, Mattlures Hard Gill floater, and the wake jr.

Hard ...Mattlures hard gill.

Soft...6" Huddelston juv trout (weedless) A good all around swimbait imho, only because it's weedless, otherwise the Mattlures 6" trout is a close second.

Soft: ProSwimbaits- Pro Minnow is very soft , swims at slow speeds, made in USA, no chemical smell, great colors and most important catches a lot fish

Hard: Except for limited fishing time with a 7" & 9" MS Slammer I don't have a lot of expierince with large size swimbaits. Of all the ones I've tried my favorite so far is the SK King Shad which has boated a few 5 lb plus bass plus a few nice Pike. I also like the River to Sea V joint minnow. For some reason I haven't done that well with the Sebile Magic Swimmer which I know has won a lot of money, maybe I'm fishing it wrong or have used it at the wrong time. I'll keep throwing it because it's a proven bait.

<-- that one is my top one

after that mattlures soft baby bass

Sebile  5" Magic Swimmer    Shiner

Money Minnow 5"  Tennesee Shad

I have never used a swimbait.  I recently purchase some H20 brand swimbaits.  5" tilapia color with some 6/0 keel weighted hooks.  Gonna give them a try.  the only thing is that I can't seem to find any keel hooks that weigh more than 3/8 oz.  i would like a 1/2 or 3/4 oz keel hook so i can get these baits to sink a little faster.  I get a little impatient thinking how long its going to take my lure to get to the depth I want.  Anyone know where I can get such a hook?

In the west-coast sense, an 8" ROF 12 Huddleston Deluxe in Rainbow Trout.

In terms of productivity, a Luck E Strike 4.5" baby bass colored hollow belly swimbait. That baby kills em from postspawn through the summer when theres weeds around and bass turn cannabalistic gorging themselves

Spro BBZ-1, floating

5" money minnow

Soft Swimbait: Luck "E" Strike Bass Magic, 4 1/2" in Green Shiner.

I got a Strike King Sexy Swimmer late in the season, and caught some. I'll get alot more time with it in the Spring to really evaluate it.

I really like the BBZ1 and Jr for here in the northeast, but I just got a new Matt lures bass hardbait from matt and I tried it out and I think I am really going to like this bait a lot. In a few months I will really know but so far it is great! Thanks Matt! I appreciate it!

For this upcoming season i think my favorite is going to be the Zoom Swimming Super Fluke.
