I bought a small Plano utility box thinking it would be great for small Panfish hooks, but the hooks slip into other compartments. My hooks are size 6, 8, and 10, and the shank lengths vary. I'm thinking about just buying a fly box to store them in. Something like this:

I'm open to other ideas, though. So how do you guys store your small hooks?

I have a few methods, but for the most part I don't use hooks, only artificial lures. I use a fanny pack, in one of the small zipper compartments I keep hooks in the flat package the came in, I put other sizes in the same package, takes up next to no room.

For use offshore with a tacklebag I cut off a piece of a round sterafoam floating thing that kds use in a pool and just stick my hooks in it, I use 2 of them. I make up king rigs using 2 and 3 hooks, stinger rigs, storing them in a ziplock bag so they don't catch in my bag. Single hooks are just kept in a plano.

I keep mine in a washed out pill bottle. The hooks won't spill out, and you can put it in your pocket without getting stuck.

I've tried several different methods, including empty Rx bottles.

Crazy as it is, I've gone back to using the plastic bags the hooks come in.

Bought a worm bag at BPS. There are little zipped pockets in each compartment that store the bags perfectly. Plus, it's easier to differentiate hook sizes that way.

I suppose it depends on your methods. I kayak fish, so like the method I'm using now. When I was shore bound, the Rx bottles worked easiest (still use that method for some stuff like for big packs of gold, Aberdeen panny hooks).

Sometimes I make my own snelled hook leaders and wrap them around a Lindy Rigger Snell Holder. That makes for easy panfishing. Wrap enough around it and you shouldn't need to carry separate hooks.

I'm just getting into artificial baits. Once I get used to it, I'll probably fish live bait very little.

I use a small plano box with magnets superglued into the bottom of the compartments. You can get magnets from craft stores and just cut them to fit the compartment. Only downside is you may have to use pliers to get the hook out of box but it's better then them being all mixed up to me.

I just take all hooks of the same size and put a rubber band around them. They are easy to remove, and even if they all wind up in the bottom of the box, they are easily seperated. I do keep them in the small Plano boxes with the compartments though.
