What Are Your Hunting Weapon's?

Recommended Posts

I use a Benelli Super nova 12 ga and a stoger condor youth 20 ga gun for goose, pheasnt, rabbit, and other small game plus deer. May be using it for hog's soon. Also I use a Bear youth bow with a 27 inch draw and 45 pound draw for deer. Finally, i use pellet guns from Crosman and Gamo to humanely take out pests like tree rats and crows.

My deer gun is a Rem. 870 20Ga w/ Hornady SST sabots no rifles for deer in NY

Coyote, Fox, Groundhogs. Marlin XS7 .243 58gr vmax or my 870 with #4 buck

i love it. shoots sub MOA at 100 yards with cheap remington corelokt 150 gr. shoots as good as the ruger for about half the price. Farthest ive shot is about 350 yards and was holding a group about the size of a soda can with a 3-9 x 40mm. its really light, which is important to me. shoulder pad is super soft to absorb a lot of the recoil from such a light rifle. Bolt is surprisingly smooth. The pro trigger is just as good as the savage accutrigger, if not better. My only complaint is that they should have made it with a hinged floor plate. best deal on the market IMO

Same here with mine in .243 I'm sub MOA at every distance iv shot 100-200yds I'll put all 5 shots in the same hole if I go slow but if i go fast my 5th shot is always a stringer because the barrel heats up from them superformance rounds going threw the light sporter barrel.

The X7 series is crazy accurate, at 100 yards i was putting grouping about a dime size. im very impressed with marlins work and hope they start coming in more calibers, especially the VH series.

Do you shoot out to 400-600 yds with your .243? My dad used to woodchuck hunt in other states with a .243 and make his own loads which almost melted the barrel they went so fast, and I am not kidding either. He would consistently do this. He could hit the face of a watch at 600 yds.

My farthest shot with it was 530yards at a 5gal bucket lid I center punched it 3 times about a 4" group. Ballisicly the .243 is better out to 1000yards then the .308 check out 6mmbr.com they have tons of info on all the common rounds.

Deer: two custom longbows in 45# draw and 65# draw. Two horsebows one @ 70# draw weight, this is my go to bow, and gets used more than any other weapon for dear hunting. The other is 110# draw, it never gets used anymore cause I'm an idiot and thought it would be awesome to have a high draw weight bow. It's great for target shooting but is terrible for hunting. Takes way too much effort, time, and is ay to heavy to hold back for an extended period of time. Rifles in the rare chance I get the urge to rifle hunt I use a .308 Remington 700 that I built myself. Also a Barrett M98B chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum, which is overkill for deer hunting, but aside from shooting at targets its nice to be able to hunt some form of animal with it down here. Neither rifle gets used but maybe 3 or 4 times a year for deer.

Raccoon, possum, and squirrel: marlin .17hmr

Coyote: Remington 700 .308 (I make do with what I have). would like a .223 but cannot afford one right now. Want to try bow hunting them this year.

Bear: For when I hopefully get to Alaska to hunt them during 2013. Barrett M98B .338 Lapua Magnum.

That's pretty much it as far my hunting stuff goes.

remington 700 in 338win mag. For bear hunting I can put two bullets thru the same hole at 100yds.

Revelation (western auto) 30-06 manufactured by mossberg in the early 70's. She shoots nickle sized groups at 100yds. For deer hunting.

Russian Izmash Saiga in 223 for yotes. I was never fond of the high priced rifles in 223 but when i seen the brand new saiga's for $259 in 223 it was hard to pass up.
