I found this while doing a little research and was wondering if anyone has used it. It looks simple enough to tie, just wondering how well it works attaching a leader to braid.

That looks like a really fat knot. Give the Improved Albright knot a try. Its very thin and easy to tie.

i like the albright. if i cant get that right , ill go to the uni/uni.

The Alberto Knot is by far the best knot to connect braid and flouro. It should have the same number of turns up and back,I prefer 7-8 turns. It really a wrap not a Knot.

I use a double uni knot and it doesn't fail me.

I use the Stren Knot. To quote, "It's exponentially stronger than the traditional Uni-to-Uni knot." Google it for more info.

Hey guys, you're talking to an old fart with p*+s poor (can I say that?) eyesight. This knot looks easy and quick to tie (that's why I like a palomar knot too), even on a windy day with aching hands. I'm gona give it a try. If it doesn't fail on me, it may be my new go to. Otherwise I'll stick to using a barrel swivel inbetween the two lines like I've been doing

Make the leader just short enough so when you cast it does not go through the guides. Guys use swivels saltwater fishing all the time. 24-48" leaders with a snap so younever have to retie and it is easier to change lures. If you retie just bring extra leader material and retie as needed. Connecting a leader to a swivel is easy. I don't like swivels lure fishinh though because weeds get caught on the swivel and I have actually had bluefish (saltwater fish) bite the swivel connecting the leader to main line causing a break off.

I hope you mean a crane swivel and not a barrel swivel, there is a difference, The barrel swivels are not as strong and they do not rotate well, cranes are a better choice and BB swivels are even better. Just dealing with freshwater, I use about 18-24" of leader tied with an ordinary clinch knot to my swivel, I only use a duolock for bass fishing, I've been known to use the same leader and knots for a few weeks with out retying or changing, can't remember the last time I got broke off. I bought these swivels, they work great, I use them for snook too.

I hope you mean a crane swivel and not a barrel swivel, there is a difference, The barrel swivels are not as strong and they do not rotate well, cranes are a better choice and BB swivels are even better. I never tie line to leader for freshwater, I do when target some saltwater species that will attack a swivel as readily as a lure.

Snook. I have seen you post about using a swivel before. Just curious, does your swivel pass through the guides?

My swivels never pass thru the guides. If I'm using a rod that has a larger top eye guide I use a larger sized swivel, like this one I use for my offshore rods. I have never had a one fail on me, I know they are cheap but they do the trick. Been using swivels since I was a little kid, I just prefer them, but nothing wrong in going line to line if that's one's choice.

I have been using the seaguar knot here lately and had pretty good success. It is also pretty darn easy to tie.
