I'm taking the swimbait plunge. I want to know what brands of swimbaits I shouldn't even think about getting. And if anyone has experience with h20 swimbaits, please speak up. Thank you.

Don't forget to stay away from Reaction Strike.

Not particularly fond of anything from River2Sea either, as far as swimbaits go.  The Kong/Bossymarck has a different motion to it, but the bait is FAR from durable.  Mine shed plastic and paint on a cast, no contact with any rocks or limbs.

Lucky Craft swimbaits and Strike Pro . these are the lucky Craft swimbaits wich are built very weak , and yes , i know LC re-did them but i would never buy one or even if some one was to give me one for free , i would not want it ....

River2sea are ok, I've used their v-joint with some success.

I have the H2O in blue gill and baby bass. I haven't fished the baby bass but the blue gill looks great. Super action but I wish it didn't sink as fast as it does. Awesome for the price.

I agree the V joint from River To Sea has been a very productive bait for me plus it's reasonably priced.

I agree with everyone stay away from Reaction Strike their stuff sucks.

The river2sea BottomWalker is a great bait.

I've never had any luck with the Storm Swimbaits myself. The ones I've tried didnt swim right. Maybe I just got a bad batch but I wont buy them again.

I helped design the H20 swimbaits and did all the ASCII certified pre-testing before release.  Joints all passed pull test strengths and swimming action is great.  Shouldn't be anything wrong with them. If anyone has had any problems...please let me know.

Are you talking about the soft shads?  I bought 2 of them for 75 cents a few years ago, one bluegill one bass, had one day that the bluegill caught fish, never worked again.  They don't float, mire of a slow sink but not bad action.  Good for what I payed, not any more.

Maybe it'll work for you, but we've found that soft swimbaits work much better.

In short, the BBZ is hyperactive, but unproductive.

Storm has redone the packaging so that the tails don't get bent the old stuff was hit and miss due to bad packaging

So what's the big knock on Reaction Strike ?, because I grabbed a couple of packs on clearance and besides them smelling like the Jersey Turnpike in July along refinery row, what's the deal ?

The storm soft plastic swimbaits don't swim straight.  I have a pack and they all swim leaning to one side.  I'll spend my money elsewhere from now on.

I also have a tru tungsten 4 in. hard swimbait.  It is ok.  It has great action but really isn't much bigger than a typical crankbait.  I wish I had my money back from this purchase.  The 5 in. baits they have out now would be a little more inticing.

I dunno, if your lookin for a hardbait, the 6" BBZ swimbait at 22.00 is tough to beat imho, soft Hudds not withstanding..

What the &%@* is a gay swimbait ? How do I tell ? Will I constantly find it stuck to another swimbait inside the pack ? Will it run away to California ? Will it redecorate my tackle bag ?

No, but it might do your hair if you ask real nice... ;D
