Let Me See You Shake..

Featured Replies

well after class, i had some fun in the tub.. the shakey head jig hook is always the owner ultra shake hook. first up was the trick worm.. welp it was like the lottery. my june bugs and pumpkins all floated like pros.. maybe only 2 out of the green pumpkin did a dang. the next was a powebait cury tail, nope not good. Next.. was the devil spear, most were good. then the zoom shakey worm.. IT was a dedicated shakey worm, it sucked...worst ones and they were a shakey worm. next was academys hot deal, the Havoc bottem hoper, great. Last was the powebait shakey worm, pretty much the same as bottem hoper, just re-packaged. It worked great.. I did try th E squared heads, pretty good.

My brother broke my verdict so i am in the the market.. was looking at the allstar, but heard more bad than good. was thinking a 7'4 spinning, i figured the longer rod would help me control the shake better.

so Sorry if this has been done before, but your favorite shakey worm and setup.. also why you like casting over spinning if you use BC.

I just use the Strike King shakey heads with KVD on the front. I use a Shimano Sahara 2500 FD with a St. Croix Mojo Bass wacky style rod. It's a 6'8 medium with an extra fast tip. It wiggles wacky and shakey head worms without a ton of effort and sets the hook with AUTHORITY. It is also extremely sensitive with its super fast taper. 5 year warranty, double gloss coating to protect the finish... Overall, I love it. If it ever breaks, I'll buy another one that afternoon.

As for choice of worms, you really are doing yourself a disservice by not using Roboworms. I like the straight tail, but the zipper shakin worm looks pretty sweet too. If you see some on a shelf, you owe it to yourself to try them. Best shakey/dropshot worms around, IMO.

Hope that helps!

The squirrel tail floats the best of all of them.

or squirrel tail worms

The squirrel tail floats the best of all of them.

I wanted to name those also, but I had no real world experience with them, so I opted to pass. I'll have to give them a shot some time!

Keep it shakey heading is my fav way for plastics

the megastrike shake2 head will make anything stand up. All you need is something with a floating tail. I tend to use them with craw/creature baits like the Pit Boss or Rage Craws. Before I found out about the megastrike I was using the owner ball head and Zoom trick worms. I like motor oil and caught plenty of fish on them.

I used to use a MH casting outfit, and it worked well, but wouldn't cast them as far as this setup does.

It's not how deep you fish....you know the rest.
