I found that Tightlines worms have a level suspend/slow fall to them. When used on a drop shot they stay level.

As for the Trick Worms, I've found that I've done better t-rigging those in the past couple of years than anything with a curl-tail, tentacles, wings, or whatever. Guess that's why Larry Nixon says the straight tail is his favorite worm.

i caught more fish last year on black or junebug trickworms (carolina,shakey or weightless) than all other lures combined.

of course... thats probably cause thats what i was throwing the most......

Take a look at Gander Mountain if you have one close by. I picked up a couple bags of the Strike Kind Finesse worms that everyone here has been talking about for $1.97 each. They only had the 7" ones. Never used em that big. May have to cut off an inch or two.  :-/

You shouldn't need to cut any of it off. An adult bass can eat a bait nearly half its length. A 7" worm is nothing to a 16+" bass.

But yeah, I checked my local Gander for SK finesse worms. They didn't have them. I was surprised to see they have RoboWorms though, because not even my closest Bass Pro had them and their fishing department is huge. I'll be picking some of them to use for dropshots.

 

Yep..no need to cut em..I've had 5" bluegills try swallow a 4.5" roboworm.. ;D Even a short bass can and will hit a 7" worm..

With a 7" worm, how long of a wait count til I set the hook?  :-/

There is a line of baits, I think discontinued, called Rattlesnake Plastics. I only find them in KMart bargain bins.  They have a finesse style plastic worm that flat out floats... The texture is a little odd (cheap?), but they stand up straight as a pin on a shaky head...
