Best way to use JJ's magic

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Looking at picking up a couple of bottles of JJ's magic. Never used dyes before and need some advice. How do you use them and where does this stuff work most effectively. I was thinking of getting a three bottle order of clear, chartruese, and metholyated

Some guys use it for a dye, but lots of us just use

JJ's as an attractant. I use it on jig trailers, at home

and outside. If you keep your treated baits in their

original bags, the stink is contained. No reapplication

is required.

If you travel with JJ's Magic, be VERY careful.

If it gets hot it might explode. If you spill it,

you have to live with the smell and the stain.

Words to the wise.  DO NOT OPEN IN THE HOUSE!  You will really regret it.  But if you do, you won't have to worry about vampires....ever.

No, I haven't used JJ's, but have used dyes. One thing I prefer to do is keep a few Q-tips in my bag and use them to apply the dye to my baits. I used to dip them but its kind of a pain to get certain appendages and such in the bottle plus all the accidents I've had with drips and spills.

I would get the 4 bottle order...2 bottles of clear.  Once you see how effective JJ's is, you'll be dipping all your soft plastics whether you want to dye them or not.  I use clear abour 3 to 1 vs. the colors.  Pay special attention to the warnings about it's use and storage...they are all true.

JFYI, it was posted a couple of weeks back that blood red is now available...not on the website yet but you can place your order via phone and request it. i'd think that is more useful than metholiate.

After-shave or a topping for my lasagna.

The best way to use it is when you are in someone else's boat.

CWB, I typed the same reply as you, almost verbatim, so decided to delete my original post.

In any case I fully concur, JJ's Magic is ideally used in someone else's boat

and preferably on someone else's lures
