I was watching the FLW series yesterday. Several of the anglers pulled out each of the plastic lure boxes they had and some used a sharpie to label each section. I have a Kevin Van Dam bag which holds about six Plano trays. Each tray I have 15 or 20 different sections. These smaller sections had been labeled with a sharpie on the top cover of each tray. Like 3/8 ounce weights, drop shot hooks, Senko worms, etc. Do most people do this or is this just personal preference? Thanks! Joe :-)

I don't label the boxes but sure wouldn't labeling my cranks so i can know and remember each one depth range.

Good point. I always have to look at the bill closely on the crank baits to see how far they look to dive.

I do ~ Duck tape and a fine point sharpy.

I label everything! I never thought of duck tape. I have pack of the label stickers ( large and small). Use a sharpie!

I label all my boxes. Sharpie on the sides. 

I've seen the sharpie on the sides too. Just something else to do so my wife can call me a nerd. :-)

I label and then label some more.  I use a sharpie and those label stickers.

 

It helps on the water when you are in a rush to retie.

That's true there! I may go ahead and update tonight with some labeling.

before i got to really "know" all my crankbaits..... i used a fine point sharpie and put the depth # on each one on the back/tail section on the side or underneath

i still do that with some.

yup this is what i do.  being able to look at a box and read it's label really helps.

I label all by jerk bait boxes as good, better, best & most expensive. Then I but all the crap baits in the most expensive box, the mediocre baits in the  best box , the average baits in the better box & my most prized baits in the good box. My buddies always pull out the the most expensive box & the best box to select what baits they want to use. That leaves the good box exclusively for me. Never hurts to have an advantage.

My crankbait box has labels taped so I can read the labels. My crankbait boxes are split up as lipless, shallow, medium, deep and topwater

Yes I label lure containers and I label my reels (on a small sticker) so I can remember what size and type of line I have spooled.

I label my boxes as well.  I use a label maker and have also cut the labels off of bags and used tape to attach it to the box so I have the part number and other information included.

I label my boxes by type of lure,name of lure and weight of lure........

Sharpie right on the box. If I need to relabel, just some rubbing alcohol on a rag, no sticky tape mess.

I don't label anything...mainly because all the lures/baits are still in their original packaging and jammed into every pocket I have hahahaha. I do a lot of shore fishing and hate lugging around tackle boxes so in turn I become a walking tackle box I guess.

I put a small label inside each compartment in my crankbait box with depth info ... early in the morning I'm not looking to do too much thinking. Most 3700s are also labeled for that same reason.

No labels and no tackle bag, I know just by looking what I have.  I do use a fanny pack for my inshore fishing with 6 plastic lure boxes, spoons, bucktails, hard jerks, gotchas, top water and storm wildeyed, I know what each weighs and how they react because I use them every day.  Have a pretty good memory on what lines I have on each reel, extra spools too.  I can't tell you what I watched on TV last night, but have a memory like a steel trap for details.

I label the boxes, but I don't label the individual compartments. If I did that I would be relabeling 4 or 5 times a year.

I've found that white duct tape sticks better than any of the sticky labels you get at Walmart.  I try to label everything, but sometimes I am unsuccessful and things don't get labeled.  When you are playing in the shop and enjoying an adult beverage or 3 sometimes stuff gets forgotten.
