What Should I Fish With?

Featured Replies

We are taking the three hour trip from Raleigh North Carolina to Harkers Island this Saturday. We have to pick up some furniture down there. My wife's aunt lives right on the sound and has a "dingy" boat. First of all someone please tell me what that means lol. She said I can fish that day and the weather will be 72° and sunny. What kind of bait and equipment should I use? I will be bringing all of my gear in the U-Haul trailer LOL.

A dinghy is a boat carried by another boat to be used as a lifeboat or a pleasure craft.  I don't know what type of saltwater fish are available in the islands there but where I have fished saltwater bays we usually used shrimp or croakers as bait, either on a hook only or using a float as a popper on top.  I would call some guides in the area and ask them what to use.  I'm sure some bass lures would work.  Bass rods and reels would be fine too.
