Tuning Circuit Board Lip

Featured Replies

Not a question on how to make them since I don't, more or less how to tune one. Got a few Spro's with the circuit board lip that want to run sideways on slow retrieves and completely roll over to the surface when I'm burning them. Ive tuned cranks with plastic lips but never a circuit board lip. For any of you who have tried to tune them, what way works the best? I don't want to start filing or scraping till I know which is the best way to go about it.

Figured the guys who make them would be the best suited to answer this! Thanks in advance

I would guess going about turning the eye assuming its not a balsa crank. What kind of crankbait is it?

bend the line tie in the direction you want the bait to run.   I would not mess with the bill.

Didnt even think of that. Its a Spro Little John with the circuit board lip. The thing rolls more than any crank Ive seen before. Ill give it a shot tomorrow. Its got an oval split ring which goes to the line tie just so you know what Im dealing with. I have dozens of Little Johns and none have ever given me this issue. I actually got the bait after I sent one back to their headquarters because the lip came out of the bait itself and they sent me two new ones back. They sell for 12 bucks a pop and I had them back in a week. Cant beat that for customer service

i believe you can youtube( KVD tuning a crankbait). That should show you how to do it for sure hes the man.
