Welcome aboard!!! I'm from Minersville,PA about 30 minutes north of Reading and I hate blue marsh lake even though I do fish there a good bit.

I feel your pain there.  It's a love hate relationship.  Love it because it's only 15 minutes from home, but it's a tough lake.  I never can get the consistent bite there.

 

I fish the Schuylkill from the kayak more than Blue Marsh the last two years.

About half the time from kayak and the other half from a Lowe 165.

Hey guys I am in Akron, Pa. Not to far from you two. I have been out to blue marsh a handfull of times and never caught anything! I have had luck at some other places though. I heard Marburg and Redman are good. Bryan, you know of any good locations for some big bass?

Blue Marsh is tough,  I don't usually get skunked there, but don't have high numbers either.  

 

Other lakes I've fished are Marsh Creek (chester county) was really good two years ago, but they sprayed the weeds and everyone states it's tougher now to get fish.  I haven't been there in two years.

 

I purchased a kayak in addition to my regular boat and fish the Schyukill River quite often now.
