Rod Box Pvc Pipe...

Featured Replies

I am thinking I need to build some sort of organization to my rod box. I usually carry 10-12 rods. I would carry less if it meant I didn't have to deal with tangling all the time. I thought about rod socks but I think I would be better off with something that the rod slid down. Has anyone ever done this? if so how long and what diameter of pipe? I was thinking 1"? Thanks!

I used the golf club bag tube inserts and those white plastic cutting boards from Walmart. I have removed the plastic from the rods after the pics.

The tube size accommodates bait casting rods only.

Rod socks work fine for me.  Put the rods you are likely to use on or near the top.  I use old towels to lay between the reels so they don't clatter together on the road or on rough water.  I also stagger the rods so the reels don't lie side by each.

As foolish is may sound, I carry 25-30 rods in tournaments and as Rhino notes, socks are by far the fastest way to carry that volume of sticks and not find yourself in a mess. Tubes are a good solution for fewer rods, but if you plan to increase your numbers, consider trying a couple socks. See what you think.

and if your anything like me you only use 2 or 3 of them, the entire time wondering if you should switch up.

BassnChris, the rod box looks nice, and probably cost under $40.
