Spinnerbait Storage For Co Angler?

Featured Replies

How do yall store/bring spinner baits and buzz baits when fishing on the back or someone's boat?

I just started bass fishing this year, so I'm sure others here may have some better suggestions.  The only thing I've had is my Plano Magnum tackle box which barely has enough room to carry the few baits I have.

Since I always fish either from the bank or the back of the boat, I'm ordering one of these... http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Extreme-Qualifier-360-Backpack-or-System/product/10204414/ with 3 360 boxes and one http://www.basspro.com/Plano-Elite-Spinnerbait-Organizer-360704/product/10210353/ to go along with it.  That will give me a box for hard baits, one for terminal tackle, one for plastics and the one for spinners.  Then I'll have the top part of the backpack and side pockets to carry a extra spool of line, misc tools, a few snacks and another box or two if needed.

One thing... I just read in the reviews for that Plano spinnerbait organizer that buzzbaits don't fit every well in it. :/

I use the Plano/Falcon spinner bait buzz bait box and have not had any problems with it. Works extremely well.

i just recently purchased the plano spinnerbait buzzbait storage box. it holds buzzbaits securely but my spinnerbaits keep falling out of place and i have to keep hooking them back up

I have one of the Plano spinnerbait boxes.. I have used for jigs but never spinner baits because I am scared of bending the wire down to latch it on expensive spinnerbaits.. Does it affect the spinnerbait in any way??

Flambeau Bigmouth Spinnerbait Box. It fits under my seat.

Spinnerbaits store most compactly when flat... put 4 or 5 in a small heavy duty freezer bag and carry the bag in one of the side pockets of your soft tackle bag.

A small Ziploc square plastic sandwich container is a good option to prevent bent wire arms. Also a small 8-10 sleeve cd wallet will work in a pinch.

my backpack holds 5 3700 size plano boxes. I one in a spinnerbait size.

Now there's an idea I can use! Awesome stuff. Thanks!

I use a Spiderwrie worm bag,

I'm with this guy. I store mine in a small worm binder. I don't like storing them unless they lay flat.

The ones I use most are in worm binder also, the one's I don't are in a small spinner bait box from Plano.

It fits nicely in one of the pockets of my bag.

I fished the Eastern Divisional a couple years ago as a non-boater and tried to be thrifty as possible with space.   I wanted everything in one medium sized soft sided bag, I think it holds 5 regular thickness 3700 boxes.  I used some skinnier boxes, so I was able to squeeze another one in.

Anyway, spinnerbait storage was a concern, but knew I needed to carry at least 8 or 10 in case I found myself in a position where needed them.    What I did was modify a section of the regular 3700 Plano box to accept 6 to 12 spinnerbaits, by merging some sections together and "V" notching the top of the permanent divider so it kept the baits in place.   So in reality, it only took up less that a 1/4 of that particular box.   Worked out very well.

Plano Elite Series Spinnerbait/Buzzbait would be my choice.

I use the Falcon spinner bait wallet.  They no longer make it because they sold their rites to Plano.

I use that box for all of my spares.  I exchange back and forth with the wallet.  The wallet will fit it a decent sized pocket on a tackle bag.

I tried to find a pick on ebay of my wallet.  It looks like Plano now has their own.

My bass fishing is from shore, my outings are usually not more than 2-3 hours.  I keep it real light, 1 rod and few various lures in lure boxes in my pocket, a pack of flukes with extra hooks in the pack in my rear pocket and maybe a small spool of leader, pliers in a sheath on my belt, and couple spinnerbaits hanging from a belt loop, that's it.
