I just recently got in my order of hubs chubs and was wondering if anyone else uses these and how do you fish them. I remember cranking them across the top of the water and having big smallmouth come up and grab them, but that's about the only way I fished them any imput would be great thanks.

I walk them. They are striped bass killers around here.

Do they walk like a spook or something of the kind or is it harder?

It's a little harder but they will walk. 

I've been fishing the larger size Hubs Chub for at least 25 years and it is one of my favorite topwater lures. I normally use a slow twitch-pause-twitch retrieve and then let the bait sit for a while. If this doesn't work, I'll use a walking retrieve.

 

I have to admit that I may not catch as many fish on this lure as other topwaters, but the average size is much better.
