Pennsylvania Boating?

Featured Replies

Hello, I am really concerned right now about the length of a boat we are getting. For you guys in PA, do our registrations round the length of the boat, like say its 17 1/2 ft. will it appear as 17'? Or is it still considered a 17' boat anyways not 17 1/2?

Thanks,

Zach

When it's registered it's classified as "16 feet, but less than 20 feet". $39 fee for 2 years.

ok so what I'm kind of asking is, would a 17 1/2 be allowed to be on a lake that says 17' or less, i don't see why the extra 6in. would cause a problem?

What lake? I haven't seen any lakes here that have a size requirement. I know a lot of the ramps are crap and too short for bass boats but I haven't heard of a restriction on length

Special Regulations

In order to comply with various state and local environmental and safety concerns, CSA strictly enforces the following special regulations at the Hinckston Run, Quemahoning, and Wilmore Reservoirs:

  1. The use of internal combustion engines is strictly prohibited on the reservoirs.
  2. Internal combustion engines, their fuel storage containers, and any other petroleum consuming device may not be possessed while boating these waters.
  3. Maximum boat length is 17 feet.

It's listed under the regulations. I would still call them up and ask if it would be okay to use a 17.5ft boat there

Call and confirm, if they say yes try to get it written down in case someone claims otherwise.

If you cant get on your boat there, there's always Raystown
