Weedless Alabama Rigs

Featured Replies

A little while back I fished a lake with a lot of standing timber. I caught some nice fish on an A-rig, but ended up losing two of them to some deep trees.

Does anyone here fish weedless rigs?

Is the best option Texas-rigged lures on weighted swimbait hooks?

Does hook-up percentage differ much from using jig heads?

Weighted swimbait hooks are what I use.

I run the hook through the body and barely bury the point on top of the bait so not much hooksetting power is needed.

I prefer the hooks with the spring keeper on the eye--easier to re-rig.

X2 best way to do it right there.

This is also the way I fish them, it will help cut down on your "snagging" issues. Nothing will totally prevent the occasional loss though.
