Sometimes It's Just Not Your Day...

Featured Replies

I feel like on my home lake, lake of the ozarks, My partner and I are pretty tough to beat..but when it's not your time to win, you jut can't put it together. We try and help guys out with what the fish are doing and hopefully down the road the favor will be returned.. We fished an all nighter last night from 8pm to 7am. Before the tournament we were pretty confident what the fish were doing and where they would be throughout the night. We found out pretty quick why thi sport will keep you on your toes. Once you have them figured out , it all can change. We helped out a couple of our buddies who were fishing the tourney and felt like we had a good game plan going in. We started shallow and worked out and back in and out again. We had a limit, but you need to have a pretty good sack to compete on this lake. Our buddies did exactly the same thing fishing the same stuff. Most of the time right after us. We couldn't find a big fish anywhere! Our buddies woul pull up, flip a beaver or a brush hog and pull a 4lber or a 5!! We ended up with 10lbs and them 22lbs. All we could do is be happy for them but in the back of our minds we knew we did the same exact things they did. Fishing is tough! That attitude we had pullin out of the weigh in was that it just wasn't our time to catch a big bag. Like I said in the topic. Sometimes it's just not your day. You can prepare and strategize for every situation, but the fish just didn't want to give us an opportunity. We did everything right, what more can you ask for? I freaking love fishing.
