First time a casted a robo worm on a drop shot rig 4 weeks ago I caught a bass and thought wow what have I been missing. Since then I just keep getting hung up. The spots I am fishing have never been an issue as far as getting hung up in the past. It is a pretty clear lake with not much cover. I did just buy some small skinny weights versus the round weights I have been using but haven't tried them yet. The cause has to be my technique. Any suggestions?

Using cylinder or elongated weights helps.  It also helps to use a texas rigged hook if you are fishing cover areas.  I usually don't cast a dropshot out far from the boat unless I'm in an area with few snags.  It works best in deep water when fished below the boat - use it with your sonar and fishing resembles a fun video game.

That's not true entirely. There are ewg style hooks for rigging weedless. Exposed is more common but not the only way to do it.

I was just nose hooking it with the hooking it with the hook unexposed. Not 100% it was the weight. I have been doing a lot of senko wacky style pretty much exclusively in this spot for years and never had an issue. Totally different style I know. I just wasn't sure if I should try and keep it off the bottom more?

I use 1/4 split shot for my weight with a knot ties on the end of the line if it gets hung up I simple pull the weight off and put a new wight on. cheap and easy.

Use the skinny weights. It helps a lot in weeds. Also, do not "cast" it works best if the line's going out at less than a 45 degree angle, IMO.

I figured since the OP said very little cover that he would be exposed hook. but you are correct, not always
