Deep Creek Lake

Anyone ever fish this place?  Is it worth my buying a maryland license and taking the trip from Morgantown over?  I know it's a resort lake but there are a lot of backwater areas that probably don't get tore up much by boaters.  I'll likely be fishing from a kayak and safety and ability to fish an area without having to paddle far to find likely fishing spots is very important.

Deep Creek is close to me. I fish it a good bit. It's typically decent fishing. Lately it's been slow due to the weather. The back coves and stuff are good to fish but most have personal docks so you might get a decent amount of wake from time to time. I can say if you launch at the main ramp you're probably screwed on a kayak. I know I wouldn't wanna fish it in one. Find a place to launch that's already in the backwaters and you'll be fine.
